This is one of my favorite songs of the year so far. I listen to it constantly. I’ve sent it to homegirls and cousins and my sis. And I stayed at the end of Twilight: Eclipse to watch the end credits while the song played. In fact, this song, along with Cee-Lo’s “No One’s Gonna Love You” remake video, makes him one of my current obsessions. I wish I could hear Cee-Lo re-sing every R&B song and pop song on the radio right now. I want to hear a Cee-Lo rendition of the entire The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill album, and hear him riff over “Hard in the Paint.” I want him to sing K-Ci and JoJo tunes at my wedding. I want Cee-Lo to go on a club tour with Travis Barker as Trvs-Clo.
You get the idea.
After the jump, watch the other Cee-Lo material I’m in love with right now… (more…)
Drake: “This is the best interview I’ve ever done in my entire life.”
I can see why. Nardwuar brings Drake and 40 down memory lane with plenty of props in this hilarious and bizarro chat session.
They talk about Drake’s habit of collecting fans’ bras: D: “I put the biggest breast’s bras on my mic stand. I try to showcase the fact that women with a full chest that’s nothing to be ashamed of, you shouldnt get them reduced, they’re beautiful….I have an entire trunk of 400 or 500 bras in this trunk, its a black trunk. I carry it with me on the road. Its pretty much every bra I’ve ever gotten.”
And it gets even better!….read details after the jump (more…)
Mikey: Man, this afternoon Ye blessed another group of social media staffers with some new material. In front of a small group of folks that help make sure Twitter isn’t over capacity, Kanye dropped another new verse from his now untitled album.(Props illroots)
Not totally surprising, he finally joined this twitter thing earlier this afternoon…
Mikey: To celebrate the release of Fat Joe’s 10th solo album, The Darkside, Hot 97‘s Who’s Next Live hosted Don Cartagena’s record release party last night at SOBs in New York City. And Joey Crack only had that hardcore on his mind. Before taking things all the way back he announced, “If you wanna hear “Lean Back”, get the f—k out! If you wanna hear “Make It Rain”, get the f—k out!
After Vado and Cassidy got the crowd warmed up, Joe went straight into the classics, starting things out with his first hit record “Flow Joe” all the way to his current street banger “Slow Down”. Of course he had to touch “Don Cartagena” and “John Blaze” along the way. (Props to RapRadar who co-sponsored)
Footage of Vado , Redman, Diamond D, Buckshot, Mic Geronimo, and MOP after the jump…
whoa, this song gets personal. In the previous post, we saw Kanye addressing the employees at Facebook and blessing them with acapella excerpts from 4 new songs off Good Ass Job (or whatever the new album ends up being called). While the other songs “Chain Heavy” and “Sweat On My Face” are upbeat and full of bravado, this song “My Mama’s Boyfriend” deals with the mind of child Kanye resenting his mother’s boyfriend and how that affected grown Kanye. Very introspective. (I wonder if some of the audience felt uncomfortable with the language?) (Props to MRU2010)

Legend: If you were listening to Funkmaster Flex tonight, you would have heard him bring this one back numerous times while he dropped bombs on the entire Tri-State. Joell never disappoints though. His upcoming Yaowa mixtape with DJ Green Lantern and Don Cannon is due out this October!
MissInfo: I was actually at SOB’s with Joell and others for the Fat Joe show when the guys hit me about this freestyle. Luckily Joell and his homie Denis had it on hand. Dre/Nahright calls it the “Sing Like Bilal” because of the beat, which DJ Premier produced.
New Music: Joell Ortiz “Funkmaster Flex Freestyle”
Kanye looks like a castmember from Mad Men, and gets the suits at Facebook goin’ crazy when he speaks to them and spits some new lyrics off his upcoming (possibly titled) Good Ass Job album. He performed parts of “Chain Heavy” and “Sweat On My Face” acapella….(props to Meka/2Dope, Dre/Nahright and Illionaire/UHTN!)
I’m so hype for this album : )
