Out the blue, RiRi tweeted a link to her website with the first song off her upcoming album. “FourFiveSeconds” is an acoustic pop-rock ballad featuring the heaviest of hitters…Kanye West and the legendary Paul McCartney (who? lol.)

Here’s a line from Kanye’s verse:

“Woke up an optimist, sun was shining I’m positive, then I heard you was talkin’ trash, hold me back I’m bout to spazz…I’m four, five seconds from wilding and we got 3, 4 days ’til Friday…If I go to jail tonight, promise you’ll pay my bail…”

Hahaa…this is like the happiest theme for anger management therapy ever.

Miss Info: This was one of my favorite events of 2014…I hung out with dance songstress Kiesza (“Hideaway”, “Teach Me” Feat. Joey Badass, “Take You There” with Diplo and Skrillex) all day in New York City, touring some of her favorite low-key hangouts. We ate some healthy hummus on the Upper West Side, shivered in the snow under Riverside Drive in Washington Heights, visited her dance crew in Midtown, and ended up vintage fashion shopping down in the East Village. Solid field trip all the way around. You can watch all the hilarity and $300 Hee Haw-branded overalls here.

To cap off the fun, Kiesza got down to what she does best…rocking Reebok Classics and the fader’s NYC celebration of music and fashion, “Coast To Coast.” And she even wore the sparkly number we bought together. Takes a real diva to pull off a turquoise satin blouson bomber;)

Our buddy ILOVEMAKONNEN released a new taste off his upcoming ‘Drink More Water’ EP…this one called “Super Clean.” Again with this song, we get Mak’s usual nonchalant sing-song delivery over a forest nymph synth instrumental, produced by Makonnen and Phantom Power. While you’re listening to this…think of a young Too Short making a never-released cameo in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. LOL. That’s how my mind works.

(OG Maco)

MissInfo: When I get fed up by all the passive aggressive boasting on twitter, all the crap that gets wrapped up and presented like “creative” writing genius, and all the holier-than-thou post-racially-correct how-dare-you thinkpieces… I find a happy place with a song of anti-social, often ignorant, “aggressive content” (c) 50 Cent. For the past month or so, that song has been “(Bitch) U Guessed It” by Atlanta’s OG Maco. (Prior to that it was Stitches “Brick In Yo Face” which was totally terrible and embarrassing…and of course, young Bobby Shmurda.)

But right now…it’s all about OG Maco. This song sounds like a 2014 Mystikal on a syrup bender with a jumbo side order of demonic possession. Yet another voice out of what I’ve been calling ALT-lanta. Maco released an EP with Key! last month called and now there’s a video!

There may be more famous and more exciting power couples in the hip hop hemisphere…but my vote for purely best looking goes to ASAP Rocky and his supermodel girlfriend Chanel Iman. Just look at these cheekbones! For all the stereotypes about haughty snotty models, and all the stereotypes about surly asshole rappers…in all my experiences, Chanel and Rocky have been the total opposite. If you’ve watched the recent Noisey documentary about Rocky, you can see some of the endearing personality I’m talking about. And as for Chanel…I remember this one time when Rocky excited introduced me to her as “his other favorite woman” and she never turned up her nose or gave me the side-eye. She was very warm and sweet. Months later, Rocky had to do a string of interviews for the BET Awards in LA, I noticed Chanel sitting in the hallway, on the floor, very content, just waiting for her BF for over an hour…like she wasn’t one of the most photographed women in fashion. Kind of amazing.

Anyways, it was only a matter of time for these two to end up with their own Vogue Magazine editorial…and I can see them as cover subjects too. Fashion fan Fucci posted scans of their Vogue September 2014 shoot, spotted on Complex Style Channel.

(Fat Joe with Jennifer Lopez and his wife Lorena at J.Lo’s 45th birthday party last week in the Hamptons)

Tonight, Funk Flex opened up the show with a series of Bronx classics, Fat Joe with Big Pun, Fat Joe with Remy Ma, and more…giving listeners a history lesson and instant mood-enhancement at once. Then he premiered in a brand new song from Fat Joe that fit in just fine with the classic. The song, “Stressin’,” may features some sparse vocals from Jennifer Lopez but it’s definitely not the usual J.Lo pop song…sounding grittier and harder and, frankly, more Bronx, than what you may have expected recently from the pair.

Flex played it at least 6 times in a row…and we weren’t mad at all.

I search through my On-Demand listings and all my Netflix recommendations…and the rivers are running kind of dry these days. There’s no new Scandal eps, no Nashvilles, no Curbs, Breaking Bads, or and no, The Blacklist ain’t it. At least I have Good Wife to look forward to, and Justified is back. And…now the anticipation is building for the fourth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones!

The bad news is…that horrid lil’ sh-t King Joffery is still not dead. But meanwhile, almost every other Stark in the Seven Kingdoms is. Ugh.

The good news is…judging from this first trailer for the new season of Thrones, there will be more Red Priestess, more Khaleesi spilling blood and taking names, more icky incest, more wildings, and many confusing plotlines.

Bring it. April 6th, 2014.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ incredible year continued on Sunday night with two wins at the 2013 American Music Awards in Los Angeles. Currently on tour, the rap duo took time before hitting the stage at Miami’s American Airlines Arena to accept their award for “Best Rap/Hip-Hop Album.” During his acceptance speech, Macklemore quoted the great Martin Luther King Jr. and spoke on racial profiling, inequality, and the fight against racism. The duo later returned to perform “Can’t Hold Us,” via satellite.

“And due to the fact that we are in Florida tonight accepting this award, I want to acknowledge Trayvon Martin and the hundreds and hundreds of kids each year that are dying due to racial profiling and the violence that follows it.”

Get in line New Yorkers… because there will be approximately 444 Playstation 4s for sale on Nov. 15, which is the launch day of the new console. The PS Blog confirmed that the units will be available at The Standard Hotel launch event. There are already a few brave souls in line but you can get your spot on Washington and Little West 12th in Manhattan. The sale will only take credit and will feature an arcade of PS4s to play, interactive booths, a PS4 inspired lighting display and more.

The event/sale begins at 12:00 AM.

Here we go again! Homeland Season 3 kicks off on Showtime starting on Sept 29th (well, hopefully. My CBS and Showtime has been dead for 2 weeks.). And I can’t wait to cringe every time looney CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) self-destructs in her never-ending obsessive love affair with psychotic terrorist Nicolas Brody (Damien Lewis).
Judging from the new 3-minute trailer for this season, Homeland will bring new meltdowns from Carrie, Brody getting shot in a foreign country, congressional interrogations for Saul Berenson, and… oh great, the most despicable child character this side of Game of Thrones, Brody’s daughter Dana will start taking naked selfies and fetishizing her dad’s Islamic religion.

Bring on the tension!
