John Singleton has passed away at the age of 51 after suffering complications from a stroke. The famed director, known for his 1991 crime-drama film Boyz In The Hood, had been in a coma since first suffering the stroke on April 17th. TMZ reports Singleton had checked himself into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after experiencing weakness in his leg. The filmmaker died on Monday (Apr. 29), after being taken off life support.

Kodak Black was set to perform at The House of Blues in Boston Wednesday night (Apr. 17), but never showed up. The concert was mysteriously canceled just moments before showtime leaving many fans angry. At the time, members of Kodak’s team apparently couldn’t get in contact with him and his whereabouts were unknown. The Florida rapper has now been found, and in trouble with the law.

Kodak Black is becoming more known for his controversial comments instead of music recently. The Florida rapper’s latest remarks many feel have crossed the line. In an Instagram Live video, Kodak Black directs flirtatious comments to Lauren London, the girlfriend of the late Nipsey Hussle. London, who has a child with the slain rapper, is currently grieving the loss of her life partner who was gunned down just one week ago in Los Angeles.

Eric Holder, the 29-year-old suspected of killing Nipsey Hussle earlier this week, appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday afternoon (Apr. 3). During the court appearance, Holder was charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder in connection with the incident on Sunday afternoon outside of Hussle’s The Marathon store in Los Angeles that left Nipsey dead and two others wounded. If convicted, Eric Holder faces life in prison reports The Associated Press. Showing no emotion, Holder plead not guilty and has been ordered to be held on $5 million bail.

Holder is being represented by attorney Christopher Darden, who gained nationwide fame as part of the prosecution team at O.J. Simpson’s double-murder trial in 1995. Nipsey Hussle, 33-years old, was gunned down outside of his clothing store after an alleged dispute with Eric Holder, who was arrested after a two-day manhunt.

As days pass, those closest to Nipsey Hussle are breaking their silence after the devastating murder of the Crenshaw rapper. A day after Nipsey’s girlfriend Lauren London spoke for the first-time following his death, YG opened his heart to reflect on his close friend. YG, who collaborated regularly with the 33-year-old on records like “F**ck Donald Trump” and “Last Time I Checc’d,” appeared a vigil for the rapper/entrepreneur in Los Angeles earlier this week.

On Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 2), the Los Angeles Police Department apprehended and arrested 29-year-old Eric Holder for the murder of Nipsey Hussle on Sunday (Mar. 31) during an incident outside of the rapper’s clothing store The Marathon in South Central, Los Angeles. The entertainment industry is grieving as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Diddy, Drake, Nas, Olivia Wilde, J. Cole, LeBron James, Stephen Curry and more have paid their respects to the 33-year-old star.

Lauren London, Nipsey’s long-time girlfriend and mother to their son Kross Asghedom, broke her silence with an Instagram post on Tuesday night. “I am completely lost. I’ve lost my best friend,” said the actress/model, posting a series of photos of the couple and their son Kross. “My sanctuary. My protector. My soul….I’m lost without you. We are lost without you babe. I have no words.”

Breaking news is currently coming from Los Angeles involving Nipsey Hussle. The Crenshaw native was reportedly shot multiple times outside of a retail store he owns on Sunday afternoon (Mar. 31). According to TMZ, multiple witnesses said the L.A. star was shot multiple times on the property of The Marathon Clothing Company, a store Nipsey owns and runs in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The status of Nipsey’s condition is currently unknown. Moments before the incident, Hussle tweeted “Having strong enemies is a blessing.”

The artist/entrepreneur enjoyed a breakout year in 2018, as his Victory Lap debut received critical acclaim leading up to it receiving a nomination at the GRAMMY Awards back in February. This story will continue to be updated.

Bow Wow has found himself in problems with the law. The rapper was arrested early Saturday morning (Feb. 2) in Atlanta for allegedly getting into a fight with his on-and-off girlfriend Kiyomi Leslie. TMZ reports the altercation happened around 4:15 a.m. and according to local police, Leslie claimed Bow Wow assaulted her. The rapper/actor is claiming otherwise and that he was attacked by his girlfriend.

Unable to determine the aggressor, both were initially charged with misdemeanor battery. According to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Both were later charged with battery substantial physical harm and Bow Wow was released on $8,000 bond. Kiyomi Leslie, whose real name is Leslie Holden, starred in Growing Up Hip Hop alongside her lover. In a released mugshot, clear scratches and bruises are seen across Bow Wow’s head forehead and eyes.

Did anyone really expect Kanye West to do anything but defend R. Kelly after last year’s dumpster fire of dumb comments? At a Sunday Service in L.A. over the weekend, Mr. West addressed the congregation with a characteristically “free thinking” musical sermon. Apparently, that freedom leads you to offering up a pathetic defence of a man who has a 20-plus-year history of rape, sexual assault, pedophilia and running a sex cult.

They just gon’ pull up full documentaries on ’em, and then they gon’ come with the Michel documentary. We can enjoy all they music all we want. I thought I wasn’t gonna go there today but [laughs]… because if we going to tear down one artist, let’s go ahead and take the da Vincis outta the Louvre while we’re at it, let’s take down all the art.

Perhaps Kanye should take notes from his good friend John Legend.

The music industry continues to mourn after the sudden death of model/actress Kim Porter on Thursday (Nov. 15). Porter, who was the ex-girlfriend of Sean “Diddy” Combs, has three kids with the Bad Boy CEO. After being silent for three days, the mogul took to social media to tribute the mother to his 20-year-old son Christian and 11-year-old twin daughters Jessie James and D’Lila.

For the last three days I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare,” says Diddy. “But I haven’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much. Today I’m going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. WE WERE SOME OTHER SHIT!! And I miss you so much. Super Black Love.” The cause of Porter’s death is still unknown to this point. TMZ reports the 47-year-old had been sick with pneumonia for several weeks. Rihanna, Missy Elliott, Drake, 50 Cent and more have paid tribute to Porter following her sudden passing.
