N.E.R.D took to Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night to celebrate the release of their comeback album, No_One Ever Really Dies. In addition to performing “Lemon” and “1000” alongside Chad Hugo and Shay Haley, Pharrell sat down with Jimmy to talk about the “intense beauty” of raising triplets, why he requests a framed picture of Carl Sagan on his rider, and N.E.R.D’s reunion.

“I was just so happy to work with Chad and Shay again,” he said. “I think this whole entire thing, we did with our eyes closed — and not ’cause we’re that good, but because if we had our eyes open, we would have gotten distracted by all the trends that was going on. We made this music with feeling, we wrote it with feeling, the visuals have feeling.”

N.E.R.D celebrated the release of their brand new album, No_One Ever Really Dies, by performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. However, this wasn’t your usual Kimmel performance. Pharrell, Chad Hugo and Shay Haley turned the Hollywood parking lot into their own party as they ran through “Lemon” and “1000.” Unfortunately, Rihanna and Future didn’t make an appearance to perform their parts, it was a crazy set nonetheless thanks to UV-lighted vehicles and an audience’s worth of dancers.

Stream N.E.R.D’s new album here and watch Pharrell’s interview with Jimmy Kimmel here, where he talks about fatherhood, Carl Sagan and N.E.R.D’s reunion.
