As if it hasn’t suffered its fair share of delays already, French Montana’s debut album, Excuse My French, has been pushed back once again. Last scheduled to release April 16, the LP will now hit stores May 21. This comes a whole 10 months later than its initial schedule of July 2012. The announcement was made through the Bad Boy rapper’s Facebook page. Delays aside, Montana fans still have his “Freaks” single with Nicki Minaj, plus the Excuse My French tour, which runs from Feb. 26 to March 26, to look forward to in the meantime.

Ugh. Why couldn’t it have been a dance off?!

Two of the biggest stars in R&B music (with a history of bad blood) just got into a physical altercation! According to TMZ, Chris Brown and Frank Ocean were both working out of the Westlake Studios in West Hollywood, Los Angeles earlier this evening (Sunday, Jan.27). As the story goes, Brown was attempting to leave but couldn’t drive off because Ocean and his crew had blocked him in. Frank Ocean was quoted as saying, “This is my studio, this is my parking spot” before Brown tried to calm the situation by reaching in for a handshake. That’s when members from both Ocean’s and Brown’s camps allegedly jumped in and started brawling.

As we mentioned above, this isn’t the first time Chris and Frank have had beef. Back in the summer of 2011, the two crooners had a war of words on Twitter. Then, the following night, Frank and Tyler, the Creator threw more jabs at Brown during a show in Los Angeles. There was also this infamous video of a group of guys claiming to be Brown’s cousins, stalking Ocean on a Los Angeles street. But later, the two called a truce via Twitter.

Back to the current flare-up….TMZ reports police have been called on the scene and there should be more details to come.

Update3: Bossip received a similar quote from police

“We’re currently investigating this as a battery, but it could be treated as an assault,”Officer Lyle Knight told BOSSIP. “In the process of the investigation they’ll decide whether it’s a hate crime.”

Update2: E! and TMZ confirm Chris Brown is being investigated for assaulting someone during the fight.

Lupe Fiasco found himself in hot water again this weekend for his outspoken political views. Performing in celebration of Obama’s second inauguration at Hamilton Live in Washington D.C. last night (Jan. 20), the Chicago rapper was removed from the stage after playing the first verse from “Words I Never Said,” the anti-war song taken from his 2011 LP, Lasers, for a whole 30 minutes, and declaring that he did not vote for Obama in November’s election. After refusing to perform a different song, Lupe was escorted off stage by security.

Now This News captured footage of Lupe getting kicked off stage, while Foreign Policy journalist Josh Rogin live tweeted the story as it happened. However, the event organizers released a statement claiming Lupe was removed for “other” reasons. Read it here.

An Interpersonal Literary Project. Yup.

Welp, this about seals it. We’re doomed. Civilization, I mean.
After a wildly successful memoir airing out her various sexual exploits with everyone from Ja-Rule to Jay-Z, Karrine Supahead Steffans is prepping a new book about the ongoing rollercoaster love affair she’s been having with Lil Wayne for years. But in keeping with Weezy’s gimmicky references about being so different from us that he is an extraterrestrial (ie his I Am Not A Human Being album)…she’s titling it, How To Make Love To A Martian. Is your soul weary yet?
Then wait til you watch this melodramatic video reading of what seems to be an excerpt from the book…
Supahead describes getting pregnant at some point in the past, possibly by Lil Wayne, while balancing her marriage (which ended last year) and her lover (Wayne aka The Martian.)

Oh…by the way, the relevation about the past pregnancy (which we assume Supahead did not carry to full term because there was no news of her having another baby)…is paired with close-up shots of her butt. Perhaps a visual allusion to that age old mystery of “how babies are made”. Very instructional.

This week, the 400 plus surviving students of Newtown, CT’s Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting were carefully transferred to their new school house in nearby Monroe, CT. Police guarded the new school and checked ID’s of all the parents. Meanwhile, R.Kelly led a choir rendition of his tribute song for the kids, their families, and the Newtown community, called “I Know You’re Hurting.”

Today in Connecticut, there is a state-wide day of mourning as more of the child victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting are laid to rest. As well as a teacher who died shielding her students. Bells throughout Connecticut are being run 26 times in honor of the 26 lives that were lost. Meanwhile, in a most insensitive display of tackiness, Wayne LaPierre, the head of the National Rifle Association, held a press conference (without any questions) where he blamed gun violence on the media, videogames, music, movies, celebrities, funding for foreign aid, attention to sports, law enforcement, possible hurricanes….and gun-free school zone. Said LaPierre, “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun…” *scratches head*

Mayor Bloomberg’s reaction to the NRA speech: “Instead of offering solutions to a problem they have helped create, they offered a paranoid, dystopian vision of a more dangerous and violent America where everyone is armed and no place is safe.”

Some of music and Hollywood’s biggest stars filmed a PSA to denounce the gun-lobby’s status quo, and demand a change in the approach to gun control here in America. Everyone from Beyonce, Chris Rock, Aziz Ansari, Jeremy Renner, Michelle Williams, Jessica Alba, Jamie Foxx, Carmello Anthony, Victor Cruz, and more appear in the “Demand a Plan” campaign…

Aren’t you just sick and tired of this? Aren’t you just hurt for the families of a never-ending stream of gun-violence victims?

27 people were killed today, 18 of them were CHILDREN…after a 20-year old gunman walked into an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Newtown CT and opened fire.

There are 311 million people in the U.S. There are over 200 million guns. The U.S. has the highest gun ownership rate in the world. Why? We are not in a state of civil war…well, not officially.

UPDATE: The shooter has been identified as Ryan Lanza. Reports also suggest he may have killed his father at home, and possibly his mother at the school (she was a teacher there).

It’s never easy to report on murder related news when it comes to hip-hop’s fallen soldiers. But at times, these things help brings closure to questions and frustrating mysteries around those cases. For fans, friends, family and supporters of The Notorious B.I.G. his autopsy report was made public by TMZ. With as much respect to his family as possible, here are a few facts about Biggies’ passing.

According to the report, 3 of the shots were NOT fatal.

– Gunshot #1 struck Wallace in the left forearm and traveled down to his wrist.
– Gunshot #2 struck Wallace in the back, missed all vital organs, and exited through his left shoulder.
– Gunshot #3 struck Wallace on his outer left thigh and exited through his inner left thigh.

Das Racist was scheduled to perform in Munich last night, but only 1/3 of the group made the appearance. Standing before the crowd, Heems (or Himanshu Suri) broke the news: “”You guys wanna know the secret? Alright, so I’m going to do some Das Racist songs, but Das Racist is breaking up and we’re not a band anymore.”

Although the announcement came as a shock to fans, Kool A.D. confirmed the split on Twitter and confessed that it had happened two months ago:

Heems responded to his tweet, saying “”hah dag, my bad dont even remember saying that shit.” Earlier this year, Das Racist told Rolling Stone that they had prepped “four or five joints” for the next album and that the entire album should be finished by the end of this year. But both Heems and Kool have recently undertaken solo projects, including Heems’ Wild Water Kingdom mixtape offered to us a few weeks ago.

Kris Humphries, your bitter wish has been granted. Kanye West has been deposed in the dramatic and drawn-out divorce proceedings between Humphries and Kim Kardashian. According to The Associated Press, ‘Ye will be forced to testify in the case to annul their 72-day marriage, which Humphries believes to be a fraud. Kim’s lawyer says her reality star client is trying to move on from the ordeal, but is “handcuffed” to her ex-husband since the case is still not ready for trial. When all documents are prepared, the trial may begin sometime next year. Whenever this spectacle is scheduled to happen, let’s hope cameras are there to capture Yeezy’s testimony.
