Meek Mill’s anticipated new album CHAMPIONSHIPS dropped on Friday (Nov. 30) and immediately various records off the project has created a stir on social media. One of those songs, “What’s Free,” is already being praised by fans as the crown jewel of the album. Rick Ross and JAY-Z are featured on the record, where along with Meek they trade verses over Streetrunner’s sampling of The Notorious B.I.G.’s “What’s Beef.” JAY-Z’s verse instantly created a stir online, for many reasons including a particular lyric involving Kanye West.

With his new album CHAMPIONSHIPS set to drop this Friday (Nov. 30), Meek Mill is on a busy promo run in support of the project. The Philadelphia MC recently sat down with Vulture for a one-hour interview. During the conversation, the Dreamchaser revealed his new album will feature appearances by Cardi B, Ella Mai, Kodak Black, Fabolous and Anuel AA. One of the songs, “24/7” featuring Mai, samples Beyoncé‘s “Me, Myself and I.” The club-ready “On Me” is the much talked about collaboration with Cardi B, where the Bronx star takes some subliminal jabs at her nemesis Nicki Minaj.

The MMG spitter also touched on ending his beef with Drake, Nicki Minaj name-dropping him on her “Barbie Dreams” record, trading prison stories with T.I. and Lil’ Wayne, thoughts on voting, rap beefs having no boundaries, and being casted in Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s film 12 O’Clock Boys.

The music industry continues to mourn after the sudden death of model/actress Kim Porter on Thursday (Nov. 15). Porter, who was the ex-girlfriend of Sean “Diddy” Combs, has three kids with the Bad Boy CEO. After being silent for three days, the mogul took to social media to tribute the mother to his 20-year-old son Christian and 11-year-old twin daughters Jessie James and D’Lila.

“For the last three days I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare,” says Diddy. “But I haven’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much. Today I’m going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. WE WERE SOME OTHER SHIT!! And I miss you so much. Super Black Love.” The cause of Porter’s death is still unknown to this point. TMZ reports the 47-year-old had been sick with pneumonia for several weeks. Rihanna, Missy Elliott, Drake, 50 Cent and more have paid tribute to Porter following her sudden passing.

Pusha T was one of many artists who took the stage during day one of Camp Flog Gnaw 2018, held at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday (Nov. 10). At one point in between songs, the sold-out crowd started chanting ‘Fuck Drake,’ and seconds later a huge visual of that remark in white letters was projected across the stage’s screen. Many thought The Clipse member planned that visual, of course in reference of his on-going beef with the Canadian superstar. Soon after performing, Pusha T took to social media to slam the festival’s tech crew, who quickly put together the visual as the crowd was chanting.

“Corny ass tech dude fucking with my screens at @CampFlogGnaw , I speak for myself and all of you know how I make my statements!!,” said the President of G.O.O.D. Music. “Dissing anybody on screen isn’t part of my show… Otherwise great festival, thanx @tylerthecreator for having me out.”

Today’s Kanye West headline comes from the man himself. On Tuesday (Oct. 30), the Chicago artist/designer took to Twitter to announce he’s taking a step back from politics, after many controversial statements and moves including his support of President Donald Trump. “My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative !!!,” said Kanye in a tweet.

West also claims he “never wanted any association” with BLEXIT, the right-wing group founded by Candace Owens. Owens previously revealed Kanye as a designer for BLEXIT merchandise, later clarifying that ‘Ye only offered advice and referred an unnamed designer to help with the clothing. “I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it,” he says. See the tweets below.

Its been almost ten years since Amerie dropped her last studio LP, 2009’s In Love & War. Since then the R&B singer has released music very sparingly, focusing her time on writing fantasy novels which turned into a success as she became a New York Times best-selling author. The 38-year-old also became a mother this year. Switching back to her original name of Amerie (it previously was changed to Ameriie with an extra “i”), the songstress releases the double album 4AM Mulholland and After 4AM.

A majority of the 13 total songs were recorded during Amerie’s pregnancy, as she tells Billboard in a new interview. “Everything on the album was recorded from when I didn’t know I was pregnant to eight, nine months [along]. “Not a Love Song” and “The Wall” were around then. I was doing little sexy rolls on those tracks. [Laughs] I record, engineer and do my own vocals and rough mixes. It was really creatively freeing.” Hear the double LP below.

The Drake vs. Pusha T saga continued recently when the former recently appeared on an episode of HBO’s The Shop. In that discussion with LeBron James, Drake touched on his beef with the Virginia lyricist and detailing his fallout with Kanye West. During that interview, the 6 God also questions Pusha T’s line about Noah “40” Shebib’s battle with MS, and gives his opinion that West was the one who leaked the info about Drake’s son. In response to those claims, Pusha T decided to give his side this week when he appeared on The Joe Budden Podcast.

Episode two of the LeBron James hosted The Shop aired Friday night (Oct. 12) on HBO. Drake was a guest on the show, an appearance where the 6 God opened up on various subjects like his childhood, growing up in a single-parent home like LeBron, fatherhood, and retirement as an artist. The two main topics the Toronto star went in-depth to speak on was his back-and-forth with Pusha T this past summer, and that leading to his fallout with Kanye West. In the conversation, Drake reveals the questionable moves Kanye made during their sessions recording in Wyoming, like West moving all the G.O.O.D. Music release dates (Kanye West, Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, Nas, Kanye and Kid Cudi/Kids See Ghosts) from the fall to June around the time Drake was to drop Scorpion.

The Canadian hitmaker would also speak about showing Kanye a photo of his son Adonis, fuel Pusha T used in his “The Story of Adidon” diss track. He also touches on Pusha T going too far on that record with the line aimed at Drake’s producer Noah “40” Shebib, a person living with MS. Drake states that a response to that record was done but instead held back from releasing it due to the fact the song would tap into a dark space.

The latest chapter in the daily Kanye West saga took place on Thursday (Oct. 11), when the rapper/designer visited the White House for a meeting with President Donald Trump. With plenty of media outlets, photographers surrounding a seated Kanye and Trump in the oval office, the former went on a rant touching on various issues. West opened up prison reform, his love and support of Donald Trump, Colin Kaepernick, why he didn’t support Hilary Clinton, black democrats, plans to bring factories and manufacturing infrastructure to Chicago and more. Shortly after the 10-minute conversation aired live, T.I. took to Instagram blasting Kanye for going to the White House and his continued support of President Trump.

“Now I’ve been extremely patient and made it a point to not jump to any premature conclusions about Ye and his antics,” said T.I. in a lengthy message. “Partially due to the lessons learned from the outcome of other similar situations dealing wit my brother Wayne (which I admittedly mishandled a bit in hindsight). But now this shit is next level, futuristic Sambo, Hopping Bob, Stephen off Django ass shit Ye!!!! From what I can gather… this is the most repulsive, disgraceful, embarrassing act of desperation and auctioning off of one’s soul to gain power I’ve ever seen.”

Meek Mill is the star of XXL‘s fall 2018 issue. The Philadelphia MC graces two covers, where he’s quoted “I want to be the voice of the hip-hop generation.” For the cover story, the 31-year-old Dreamchaser writes a letter to his 19-year-old self. In it, the matured Meek Mill spits game to the young rebellious teenager about perseverance, race in America and recognizing his power. Get the fall issue when it hits newsstands on October 16.

“My question to you, Meek, is: Are you willing to travel those rocky roads towards your throne? Most importantly: Are you sure you want this responsibility?” he writes. “Like our old heads used to say, ‘Heavy is the head that wears the crown.’ It’s free to dream but nothing is more expensive than achieving them. I repeat: Nothing is more expensive than achieving your dreams. Trust, you will get yours.
