Good news, Freddie Gibbs fans: Gangsta Gibbs is dropping a new project called Freddie tonight. The only thing better than the announcement itself is how it was made. In a hilarious video to promote the album, the ESGN rapper spoofs ’80s R&B commercials and teases new songs like “Whippin’ Dope with Tyrone,” “Smokin’ That TKO” and — who could forget? — “Bitch You Better Clean Them Sheets.” We’ll have to wait and see how many of those are actually real songs, but it looks like we can expect a guest appearance from 03 Greedo.

Freddie serves as the follow-up to Gibbs’ 2017 album You Only Live 2wice. His second collaborative album with Madlib, Bandana, is also (hopefully) still on the horizon.

And yet none of the three contestants seemed to have any idea who Kendrick Lamar is, let alone heard his hit records. This isn’t the first time Jeopardy! players have failed miserably when it comes to hip-hop topics.

It’s Christmas come early as Netflix have given us our first taste of Dave Chappelle’s upcoming special, Equanimity. In this two-minute teaser from his third and final stand-up special of 2017, Chappelle offers his typically hilarious take on Trump voters. “I listened to them say naïve, poor white people things: ‘Man, Donald Trump’s gonna go to Washington and he’s gonna fight for us!’ I’m standing there thinking in my mind, ‘You dumb motherfucker. You are poor; he’s fighting for me.'”

Equanimity premieres on Netflix on New Year’s Eve. It’s the follow up to Deep in the Heart of Texas and The Age of Spin, which earned Chappelle his first-ever GRAMMY nomination for Best Comedy Album.
