future-1

It’s 6:25pm EST and the entire Rap Internet is practically glued to OVO Sound on Beats1 as I type this. Drizzy Drake is playing disc jockey as he plays some of his favorite songs and explains how his original intention was just to hit Atlanta and make a few songs with Future, but his ATL friend’s energy was so magnetic that they ended up doing a whole mixtape. “It’s a little soundtrack for the people that need it right now,” says Drake.

The clock just hit 6:28pm and the tape just started playing after a quick intro from October’s very own. I’m not going to lie I’m still tripping on that fact that a peer of mine named this mixtape. Yes, Ernest Baker came up with the tape’s name based off a phone call he had with Drizzy when he hit Ernest to let him know about the project. Wow.

major-myjah

Miami recording artist Major Myjah serves up the stream to his upcoming Trouble EP exclusively with Missinfo.TV today. The crooner has been working on this project for the last year and combines his own unique blend of R&B, hip-hop and pop. With influences from Reggae and Dancehall, Major’s voice can’t be compared with any of his contemporaries.

On the 8-track project, the emotions and vibes range from sultry ballads, midtempo grooves and of course songs that can destroy radio. Records like “Chemical Kids” showcase Major’s incredible voice and songwriting abilities — while records like “Disposable” and “Ground Zero” are perfect for cruising around while getting lost in your own thoughts.

Trouble officially hits retailers on Friday (Aug 28).

pusha

BAPE’s flagship boutique in New York City celebrated its 10 year anniversary last on Thursday night (Apr 23) in Manhattan. Special invited guests Pusha T, Travis $cott, Virgil Abloh, Cipha Sounds, Vashtie and Sky Gellatly — as well as tastemakers from around the world huddled into NYC hot spot, Up & Down for a night of open bar Hennessey and incredible DJ sets. Big shouts to Ciph who killed it all night.

Things peaked when Young Travis climbed on top of the DJ booth in usual fashion. Turning the club atmosphere into one of his wild ass shows, the Bape fiend nearly injured himself when he took a spill, but that didn’t stop him from continuing on. Pyrex P closed the party out with a short but sweet set of his crowd favorites. Even the Japanese BAPE staff lost their minds when “Grindin” dropped.

maxo kream cell boomin

Maxo Kream’s “Cell Boomin” is the trap phone anthem that’ll make you want to leave behind the spoils of an iPhone 6 for a Nokia flip phone. The Houston rapper recently linked up with Awful Records’ Father at A$AP Rocky’s house party down at SXSW to shoot the official video, which we’re premiering today. Directed by Midas Gold, the clip features blunt-rolling cameos from Pretty Flacko and Lucki Eck$. But nothing quite tops the synchronized finger wagging at the one-minute mark. Don’t ever front on five grams.

“Cell Boomin” is taken from Maxo Kream’s #MAXO187 project, which is out now on iTunes.

missy elliott super bowl

Yes, Katy Perry’s Super Bowl halftime show looked like an even scarier version of Channing Tatum’s hallucination in 22 Jump Street, but credit where credit’s due: she broke off a slice of the biggest show on Earth to let one of hip-hop’s true legends, Missy Elliott, rock out (and subsequently steal the show with a medley of decade-old hits that clearly still ring out today).

Miss Info: Hold up! Before you bow down to Missy’s freshly-reinstated greatness…here’s a little #MissInfoExclusive ; ) We heard an unreleased remix from Diplo and Skrillex (aka Jack U) of their massive pop/dance hit “Take U There” but this one featured two incredible verses from our girl Missy Elliott, not just spittin’ in high heeheeheeheehaw form, but also giving up a little buttery “Hot Boys” melody too. We’re as ready for this Missy renaissance as the rest of the world…and even though this collabo was recorded before all the Super Bowl hype, it would just in time to catch the wave. Hope to be able to share the remix with you guys soon!

wara from the nbhd if guns could speak

Wara From The NBHD was behind one of last year’s most slept-on projects, Kidnapped, an N*E*R*D-infused narrative of a street hustler named Piano Lessons who runs into the type of trouble that’s all-too-familiar for black kids across America. On his forthcoming EP If Guns Could Speak, however, the Atlanta-via-Brooklyn MC is broadening his scope with military-style intensity, as you’ll soon discover on the project’s first single/video, “Protect N Serve.”

Here’s a new joint from two of ATL’s shining stars. Goin’ straight Beast Mode, Future sticks to what he knows and talks that street sh*t on “Real Sisters.”

Earlier today, we heard a new joint from Usher and Migos that will also be included on the Digital Trapstars and WeGlobal mixtape Screens on Lock: 4th Quarter Press.

Rumor has it that Future and Zaytoven are cookin’ up a project together for release in 2015.
