Blueface’s “Thotiana” reached a new peak, rising to No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. As that record and remix with Cardi B and YG shows no signs of slowing down, the L.A. rapper links up with G-Eazy. It’s an all California affair on “West Coast,” as Blueface brings his off-beat rhyming style pattern over a funky baseline with bounce. The pair shot a music video for their collaboration earlier this month, set to premiere soon.

De La Soul made a huge announcement on Tuesday (Feb. 26), revealing their first six albums will be coming soon to streaming services for the first-time. The news sadly comes with huge downside, as the trio revealed they won’t any royalties due to issues with Tommy Boy Records, the label that released those projects. “The music will be released digitally,” said the hip-hop group in an Instagram post. “After 30 long years of good music and paying their debt to hip-hop, De La Soul unfortunately, will not taste the fruit of their labor. Your purchase will roughly go 90% Tommy Boy, 10% De La.”
Samples played a huge role in the albums not being available on streaming platforms, something the group says Tommy Boy is ignoring. “When confronted and questioned whether or not all samples had been cleared for our catalog’s streaming release, Tommy Boy felt that it would be better to move forward with the release and deal with all claims/lawsuits later on… really????. That’s just not smart business. We don’t want to be sued.” The group sat down with Sway in the Morning to discuss their situation, watch below.

Offset’s solo debut Father of 4 is out everywhere now. The Migos rapper is now on a promo run, recently making stops with GQ and Billboard. The media blitz continued with visits to Power 105.1 and HOT 97 this week. Sitting down with The Breakfast Club for an hour, Offset discussed the simplicity of his album title, choosing to have his kids on the cover, almost losing his wife Cardi B, his estranged father and trying to mend that relationship, the near-fatal car accident last year, maturing as a person, spending less on cars and jewelry, love for investing and real estate, plus more.
Catching up with the Ebro in the Morning crew, Offset touched on his decision to crash Cardi’s Rolling Loud performance to win her back, his recent back-and-forth with Chris Brown on social media over 21 Savage memes, catching listeners off guard with the mature content on the new album, the decision to keep Baby Kulture out of the spotlight, and older artists paying homage to the Migos for their cultural impact.
