Eminem and long-time manager/Def Jam CEO Paul Rosenberg serve as executive producers of the newly released battle rap film, Bodied. As hip-hop lovers enjoy the movie, Eminem decided to take it back to where it all started. Inspired by the film, Slim Shady drops a ten-minute freestyle called “Kick Off.” For the performance, Marshall heads to The Shelter at St. Andrew’s in his hometown of Detroit, the very place the ‘Rap God’ took part in various battles in the early stages of his career. As expected, Eminem goes off touching on Islamic regime, the Manchester bombing after an Ariana Grande concert, and his status when it comes to the greatest MCs.

Since the day Dre gave me beats, I was made elite…that’s basically what makes me me/ Creating stink till these tats are fading ink/ Who’s the greatest? Think…we’re still debating. Wink.”

One of those songs, “What’s Free,” is already being praised by fans as the crown jewel of the album. I know, I know. Last night was a crazy one for new music. Probably the craziest night all year. (Quick recap: new Meek album, new Earl album, new Lil Baby album, new K.R.I.T. EP, new Alchemist EP, new KAYTRANADA EP, new Key! and Kenny Beats EP, two new Chance songs, new Gucci and Quavo song, new Offset song, new Kodak song *catches breath*)

But please don’t let Saba’s new song, “Excited,” fly under your radar. It’s the Chicago rapper’s fourth loosie in as many weeks following “Stay Right Here” with Mick Jenkins and Xavier Omär, “Beautiful Smile” with IDK, and the Pivot Gang posse cut “Blood.” That’s on top of his excellent Care For Me album, which dropped back in April.
