Skrillex and GTA released a crazy video for the Grant Singer-directed, “Red Lip.” The treatment,co-written by Skrillex and Singer, gets started on a wild ass ride where everything is extra creepy with a closer look.

“I came up with it with Grant. The first thing that went through my head when I heard the song is that it starts out kind of pretty, but still dark. It feels almost schizophrenic. The way Sam Bruno, the vocalist, delivers the song, it feels like she’s afraid of something. The idea was, what if this girl was sitting here by herself, and when the key changes in the song, the sky just went black and these creatures come out from behind and it’s this nightmare she’s running from? It’s this girl in your head, and this is what she’s seeing,” Skrillex told Pitchfork.

GTA’s Vol. 1 EP is available on iTunes now.

KRS-One recently sat down with CNN for an interesting piece on racism, politics and the state of America. The teacher had some powerful things to say about his lack of faith in the U.S. government and the unbalanced state of our society today.

“You have to be educated to vote,” KRS tells CNN and if you don’t know your country’s history, how the economy works, what the law is, you’re not an educated voter. “This is what a lot of these candidates are actually banking on. They’re banking on the ignorance of the American citizenry.”

The 2015 Soul Train Awards debuted a new R&B cypher to the program last night (Nov 30). With the BET Hip-Hop Awards receiving so much attention, I guess it was only natural for them to move this way. The show’s host, Erykah Bady manned the turntables as Chrisette Michele, K-Ci Hailey, Eddie Levert and Lalah Hathaway got busy over Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones.”

You gotta peep my man K-Ci’s flow, though…

Chief Keef may not be in good standing with his current record label, FilmOn, but that won’t stop new Sosa music from hitting the web. Here, another mix of Glo Boyz music comes to the Interwebs.

The label is owned a greek billionaire Alki David, who released this statement on Keef being “suspended” from his contract with FilmOn.

“…His management went off and did a tour without our approval,” David said. “Not happy with the direction they are taking him.” He argues that his management are “limiting his appeal to a wider audience.”

We’re used to hearing Wiki over the throbbing sounds of RATKING’s in-house beatmaker Sporting Life, but for his latest solo offering, the gap-toothed MC teams up with a Detroit producer who knows a thing or two about good rap music. On “Hate Is Earned,” Wiki tears through Black Milk’s steely instrumental as if it was the very critics his charged up rhymes are aimed towards: “Y’all ain’t authentic, man, just ’cause you old, critic/Y’all got me so over it, done/Any hate, man, I won, I take it in like the sun/It’s like Vitamin D to me, the hate make me a deity.”

“NEW WIKI COMING SOON,” he writes on SoundCloud — let’s hope he’s talking about a full project.

UPDATE: Yes he was. Wiki’s debut solo project Lil Me drops December 7. He’s also released a video for another new track, “Livin’ With My Moms,” featuring Nasty Nigel of Worlds’ Fair (via NPR).

Lupe Fiasco and Kid Cudi aren’t exactly the best of friends. The pair have got into it on Twitter a couple times before — last year, after Cudi called out Lupe’s $500-for-a-verse offer, and then back in January when Cudi added his two cents into Lupe’s heated debate with Azealia Banks — but it appears their relationship hasn’t improved since then.

Shortly after wrapping up his and Tyler, The Creator’s Rocky and Tyler tour, A$AP Rocky made a headlining appearance at Hong Kong’s Clockenflap music and arts festival over the weekend, where he treated the crowd to some unreleased sounds. Joined by the rest of A$AP Mob, Pretty Flacko performed a drugged-out banger called “Yamborghini High” which is, of course, a nod to the late A$AP Yams.

No word on whether this is a new track — potentially off an upcoming project — or just a joint from the stash. Either way, that CDQ would be much appreciated, Rakim.
