kendricklamar

When you think of songs off Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly album, his “For Free?” interlude is probably the last you’d think of when coming up with a music video off the effort, but here we are. K Dot is not used to doing things in the conventional way, anyway, so that’s why it’s not a surprise that he’d pick an interlude as his latest visual. The short clip is borderline psychedelic, with the uptempo jazzy track playing out in front of our eyes. Rant by the woman and all.

It’s always dope as hell when hip-hop helps your different interests collide. While looking for a photogrpaher to shoot the Migos show last night at the Highline in NYC, my boss as VIBE (Datwon Thomas) offered to hit up a good friend of his for the job. Little did I know it would one of my favorite skateboard photographers growing up, Ian Reid. Talk about things coming full cirlce.

Some of you may know Ian from his infamous Sex, Hood, and Videotape film.

wtf

Shout out to whatever has gotten into Young Buck in 2015 because he’s been in the zone. The G-Unit member representing the South has been a straight up animal this year, and the last two releases have been some of the best we’ve heard yet. Buck has another mixtape on the way soon, and we seriously doubt there is anything less than fire if these few tracks he’s dropped are any indication.

wiz-1

It looks like with all the battle rap talk going on, Wiz Khalifa was moved to take it back one time with an acapella freestyle.

gunplay

Gunplay’s Living Legend album is officially out now and the tales of drugs and street dealings are a pretty common theme throughout the record. Judging on the title of his latest video, “White B*tch,” you’d think he was talking about a snowbunny, but he’s talking about another white girl. You know, the kind you pack in a brick and you indulge in with lines. It’s Cocaine Cowboy Fridays straight out of Colombia thanks to Don Logan.

meek-1

Meek Mill’s Drake diss track, “Wanna Know,” is causing chatter on the Internet for all the wrong reasons. Instead of folks saying the Philly rapper “Ethered” Drizzy, the general consensus seems to be that Meek should have spent more time in the lab penning his verses. The one line that is casuing the most commotion isn’t a rhyme — it’s a bit of gossip the MMG rapper says at the end of the track. “You let TIP homie piss on you in a movie theater, we ain’t forget,” Meek screams at the end. But what the hell is Meek talking about you ask…

Here’s What TMZ says happened (acoording to their source):

Our sources say, it all went down in 2010, during a private screening of “Takers” on the Sony lot … a movie in which Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, Chris Brown and T.I. all starred in.
Drake attended the screening and, 30 minutes in, jumped up screaming and ran out of the theater.
We’re told a dispute erupted over who was sitting where … apparently Drake and one of T.I.’s childhood friends got into it. The friend got pissed, and pissed on Drake.
We’re told Drake ran out of the theater, screaming “motherf*****.”
And sources told us the obvious … intoxicants were involved.

gangrene

The duo of Alchemist and Oh No always come with that real grimey New York street music when they release something and the sounds continue with “Reversals.” The funky sounding track is off the upcoming You Disgust Me album out August 14 and if you’re familiar with the two, some trippy videos and experimental sounds are on deck from the effort.

dipset-american-dream-cover

We know what you’re thinking. New Dipset!!! Except it’s not exactly a full reunion mixtape from the Harlem crew. Once you check out the tracklist, you’ll realize it’s more of a “Friends of The Diplomats” effort, which still boasts some pretty well known names. There is no presence of Cam’ron or Juelz Santana, but Freekey Zekey and Jim Jones appear, as well as Lil Wayne, Styles P, Rico Love, Chinx, Hell Rell and Sen City.
