action bronson nursing home

I can’t think of a more hilarious cultural experiment than exposing old British ladies to hardcore American rap. That’s what exactly Noisey did when they booked Action Bronson to perform “Strictly 4 My Jeeps” in a nursing home in England. Despite giving the performance of his life, the elderly crowd was none too pleased and gave Bam Bam a measly 5.2 rating. To his defence, though, half the crowd complained they couldn’t actually hear him.

Considering the fact he promoted his new “I Wanna Be With You” single by “proposing” to Nicki Minaj, DJ Khaled is well and truly in his zone right now. Which is why it’s hardly surprising that the artwork for his upcoming Suffering From Success album looks like, well, that. This also explains why Khaled has been pondering all over Instagram recently.

Featuring Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Future and more, Suffering From Success is due out September 24.

Hip-hop nerds rejoiced recently when Pete Rock and Camp Lo released a sequel to their collaborative project, 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s. The Uptown hip-hop OGs got into their whole story, including their classic record, “Luchini.” Get yourself a snack because this is long.

XXL
We all heard what a mess Lil Wayne’s last album, I am Not A Human Being II, was but little did we know the project was Weezy trying to sound “underground.” Strange, but that’s exactly what he told XXL on their latest cover story. The album was released this past March to mixed reviews. Did any of you guy like it?

Were you happy with how I Am Not A Human Being II came out and the public response to it?
Overall I felt good about the project because I approached it in a manner of—and this may sound silly—trying to be underground.

Chuck Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks have spent the last two years carving out promising solo careers for themselves, but The Cool Kids reunite (unofficially) on “the hardest song we’ve ever done,” according to Chuck. It’s another bass-pounding, retro-inspired banger called “Swervin'” and is the latest single from Mr. Inglish’s solo debut album, Convertibles, arriving this fall.

The city of Detroit is going through some of the toughest times that it has ever faced. Recently, the Motor City filed for Chapter 9 Bankruptcy and the future of the American city is uncertain. In a effort to share a tiny bit of cheer with the impoverished city, Beyonce recently dedicated her cover of Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come” to the D. She recently performed on The Mrs. Carter Tour at the The Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit.

childish gambino

It’s clear Childish Gambino is up to something, but what exactly? Last night, the actor-rapper released an ambiguous video titled Clapping for the Wrong Reasons. The nearly minute-long clip features cameos from Trinidad Jame$, Chance the Rapper, Flying Lotus, porn star Abella Anderson and actress Danielle Fishel (aka Topanga), as well as Donald Glover himself, sporting a busted nose. He tweeted “director’s cut next week,” so it’s safe to assume this is a trailer for an upcoming film of some sort.
