beyonce-belgium

Beyoncé and “The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour” pulled into the Sportpaleis in Antwerp, Belgium on Friday afternoon. The pop diva treated fans at the sold-out show with a special debut. Appearing on stage in a long red dress, Queen Bey performed the song “Standing on the Sun” for the first time live.

Back by dancers, Beyoncé had the crowd at her attention as she went into various dance routines. “I’ve been saving this song, just for ya’ll” said Bey as various images of nature and the world projected on a screen. A short preview of the song was first heard in Beyoncé’s H&M summer campaign commercial earlier this year.

gucci mane marilyn manson

Just when you thought Paris Hilton’s signing to Young Money would be the strangest thing you’ll hear all month, Gucci Mane has announced he recorded a song with Marilyn Manson. The track’s titled “Fancy Bitch,” and Gucci calls it “one of the craziest records ever made.” How the hell did these two link up, you ask? Guwop and Marilyn hit it off at the Spring Breakers premiere in L.A. back in March, made a trip to the studio afterwards and worked ’til 6am, according to The FADER. Apparently, Manson wrote the hook and even laid down a rap verse, with a little help from his Bricksquad buddy.

That’s my boy man. We got the dopest record in the world, me and Marilyn. Me and him got one of the craziest records ever made. We made it whatever day Spring Breakers came out in Cali. He came to the sneak premiere, and after we did the red carpet and watched the movie, me and him went to the studio and made us a record. That’s the day that we met and began being friends. He’s cool as hell, I fuck with him hard. He ain’t the averagest white boy. He got swag. Me and him together, he don’t get on my nerves. I can stomach being around him. He cool.

In other news, Gucci took to Twitter earlier today to announce that his new album will be titled Mr. Guwop. It’s coming this fall (get it?)

el-p-big-boi

Partners in rhyme Killer Mike and El-P are gearing up to drop their free album through their friends at Fool’s Gold this June. They gave us a taste of the project last month with “Get It.” Today, the duo returns with a new heat rock, “Banna Clipper,” which is another unforgiving lyrical romp over a booming instrumental. Big Boi also joins in to play cleanup hitter on the record. You can catch Run The Jewels in a town near you this summer.

It was an emotional visit to 106 & Park for The-Dream yesterday. The R&B juggernaut couldn’t help but shed a tear after Kelly Rowland surprised him with a plaque commemorating 50 million sales worldwide for both his solo work and outside production. “I call him a brother now, he’s one of the most special people in my life,” said Ms. Rowland of Terius, whom she is currently on the road with as part of the Lights Out tour.

The-Dream also got called up by Kevin Hart and DJ Khaled, announced his new Radio Killa artist, New Orleans singer August Alsina, and discussed the making of his new album IV Play, which is in stores now.

miguel

Miguel is steady trooping through this whole “leg drop” fiasco. After being the target of countless memes and endless Twitter slander, the crooner is still walking around with his head up. However, he recently made some comments on Twitter about he felt the African-American community is overly critical. He wrote:

“Im proud of my heritage but honestly, black people are the most judgmental people in the world. Shits sad man … we’ve been conditioned, pre-programmed to hate ourselves … that’s why I appreciate those who choose to think and act for themselves regardless of ethnicity or culture … the problem can not be fixed until the problem is recognized. Not everyone is the same thank goodness. And obviously, I love all my fans … Of course EVERYONE is judgemental.”

In a followup interview with BBC’s Charlie Sloth, Miguel explained his comments and even took time to bust a live freestyle where he poked fun at his unforgettable Billboard Awards moment.

andre 3000

It seems like André 3000 sightings get rarer by the year, but best believe each one is memorable. With just his second guest appearance of the year — the first being his “Back to Black” duet with Beyoncé, off The Great Gatsby soundtrack — 3 Stacks revives his Love Below pipes and croons on new wave indie outfit Capital Cities’ “Farrah Fawcett Hair.” Narrated by Frank Tavares of NPR, the track will appear on their upcoming LP, In a Tidal Wave of Mystery (out June 4).

Our prayers and condolences go out to André following the recent passing of his mother.
