August 2012

Slaughterhouse and Swizzy put a twisted spin on the traditional poker game. Blood guts, half naked chicks, champagne, rappers… the gang made sure to include all the good stuff. Whether you got it like that or not, it’s Friday, so take this demented visual and just throw it away!

Waka Flocka dresses it up and keeps it sophisticated while trying to go in for the kill. Aside from Nicki, the guys have some other notable eye candy in Flocka’s club ready, “Get Low,” video. Benny Boom really made an old concept seem pretty damn new. Flocka’s Salute Me or Shoot me 4 mixtape drops on 9/13.

Weezy F. Baby knows the fans are mad about Dedication 4’s delay. It seems like all the people want is “mixtape weezy” back. That martian who ripped those Dedication tapes with little remorse about the slaughtering the competition’s beats. When it didn’t happen on the 31st, Fans almost turned on Weezy, but he knew something was up. So here is Lil Wayne’s official explanation for the mixtape’s delay. Blame Cortez?

Mac Miller is standing tall for PA. With his consistency and sharp rhymes, it has to be getting hard for the haters that refuse to give this kid props. In antipation of his upcoming EP with Pharrell, Pink Slime, Mac lets two more joints go on his newly created SoundCloud page. One comes chopped and screwed, and the other is a cover song.

Wu members Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, and Method Man dropped a collaborative studio album Wu-Massacre in 2010, and with it, a comic book mini-series. While we were given a taste of the graphic literature, the entire comic book was never actualized. But recently, snippets of the defunct project, originally designed by Alex Haldi and illustrated by Chris Bachalo, have surfaced the internet, teasing Wu-Tang’s nerdiest fans of an epic comic series that never was.

Last night, Intel and MTV Iggy hosted a Shakespearian-themed music venture for the books. The free concert series The Music Experiment featured alternative indie artist Santigold as the main draw, but an added fantastical theme cultivated the full experience. The attendants were asked to dress themselves in ethereal “Mid-Summer Night”-inspired costumes and were driven to an undisclosed location.

Santigold then kicked off the whimsical evening by performing hit tracks off of her latest album Master of My Make-Believe. This thematic experience is one of the many unique concerts being hosted this fall. Each venue plans to experiment with new visual themes through music, art, and digital media.

nas-cw-1

With his fifth #1 album and one of 2012’s best projects to hit stores, Nas is delivering plenty of visuals in support of Life Is Good. As the newly released “Bye Baby” is still fresh on our minds, Nas spent this past weekend filming the follow up. “Cherry Wine,” the posthumous collaboration with close friend Amy Winehouse, was brought to visual life at an undisclosed location as Nas plays the role of a dapper bartender. Model Brittany Dailey, who we recently saw in The-Dream’s “Dope Chick,” looks to return as Esco’s leading lady in the new clip.
