Mobb Deep’s Prodigy sat down with FUSE to breakdown the inspiration behind the duo’s classic sophomore album, The Infamous. This Sunday you can catch both Prodigy and Havoc at Rock The Bells in NYC where the tandem will perform this very album in it’s entirety.

Mobb Deep’s Prodigy speaks from the studio about the origins of Havoc’s haunting, wobbly hooks, sampling jazz records inherited from the legendary Budd Johnson, and finessing the MC skills that made The Infamous a classic.

Our friend Tim Westwood was on hand keeping us informed via Twitter, as Kanye arrived to watch his Nigerian pal’s show and even more surprisingly he jumped on stage to perform “All of the Lights.”

T.I.’s coming home this week. Following an 11-month sentence for a parole violation after an L.A. drug arrest, T.I. will be released to a Halfway House on Wednesday from the Forrest City Correctional Facility in Georgia. The release comes a month early as the King of The South was originally to be freed on Septemeber 29th. One of the first thing’s on TIP’s agenda? According to DJ Drama, he’s planning to publish a book. Until then, fans will hopefully get some new music in the near future.

UPDATE: T.I.’s Lawyer, Jonathan Leonard tells XXL that he won’t be released until September 29th.

The Bureau of Prisons they won’t give you the information [of his release] until the very last minute. The Bureau of Prisons makes all the decisions once [someone goes] into the federal system then the federal prisons is the governing body as to when he’s released, the judge has no control over it. And you don’t have any real contact with them, they don’t communicate with you and they don’t tell you when exactly he’s gonna be released. They don’t even cooperate with me and tell me much of anything. He’s doing great. He’s certainly looking forward to getting this behind him.”

The hard working blogstress Necole Bitchie went right to work after Beyonce broke her big news at the MTV VMAs. On the red carpet for Weezy’s Tha Carter IV album release party, she asked celebrities from Nicki Minaj (she joked about wanting to be the god mother), J. Cole, Jessie J., Christina Milian and more what they thought about Bey and Hov’s first child.

J. Cole: “I was like “Beyonce pregnant?!” Then they showed a photo of her on the carpet with her hands on her stomach showing her baby bump. It was just instant smiles but I was just telling somebody it feel like the whole world was having a baby right now. That’s how ‘ill’ it was.

Not only are they huge celebrities I feel like they did it right. They carried themselves in the public light right, they represent black people correctly. So it’s like the only thing we’ve seen like that is Will & Jada but they’re a little more relevant to us, like immediately more relevant to our generation at least my generation so that’s why it feels so important.”

New York City’s Mayor Bloomberg responds to a question about the fake twitter account El Bloombito…which is dedicated to his hilariously awful Spanish accent.

Gotta love the fact that Mayor Bloomberg had a sense of humor about the funniest thing to come out of New York’s overblown but understandable Hurricane Irene Hysteria. Even though I was stuck out in Los Angeles (and still am), I was in spiritual solidarity with all my friends and family back home who were preparing lists on which frail friends would be the first to be eaten in the post-Irene Zombie Apocalypse.
And I was also, crying peeing laughing at the spoof twitter account El Bloombito, dedicated to all of Mayor Bloomberg’s insanely uncomfortable messages to all of New York’s Spanish-speaking citizens! He’s not even trying to pronounce anything in a slight Spanish accent. It’s so awesome! (Thanks to my girl DeirdreMaloney for sending both ElBloombito and this vid!)
