Lil Wayne shows, Jay-Z shows, but they do not show love to each other
Posted by Miss Info under Concerts , Hmmm? , Relationships and Family , Videos[41] Comments
….at Tuesday night’s concert at the Izod Center. But even though the two alpha males didn’t share a stage to perform “Mr. Carter,” …..Mrs Carter (Beyonce) showed the crowd that when you’re married to a mogul, there’s no need to be coy about that post-engagement, post-wedding icepack on your tatted up ring finger : )
(Bey looks beautiful as always, or maybe it was “sasha fierce” because she had her terminator glove on. But question: when she showed off “the ring” wasn’t it on her non-marital hand?)
My spies were in full effect at tonite’s Powerhouse concert, hosted by the competing station (hello to the friendlies over there, lol).
And from what I gathered….
-D-Block rocked but someone coulda gotten hurt for cutting off Jada’s mic mid-sentence. Especially before he got to rock his new single. Poor thing.
-Neyo brought out Plies and Fabolous to balance out his estrogen, lol. JK. sort of.
-Lil Wayne was his rock star mode, with full band, and guitar 101 chords. Some folks hated it (see Lowkey), some folks loved it (see most of the New Jersey audience…home of Jon Bon), and some folks just wanted to have his next baby (see the screaming girls). Bobby Valentino came out, and so did Baby (F. Baby please say the Baby).
But…after all the build-up…..Shawn Carter did not come out to perform “Mr. Carter” with Dwayne Carter II. Clearly that was because of what happened the night before. Damn shame….
-Jay-Z tore down his classics and his newer songs with the ease of an old head who can do this in his sleep. Consummate pro. But some of the pals on my twitter list confessed that they were a little bored by the precision. But even the spoiled who have seen Hov do the same set before, were impressed when Beyonce walks out out, sashay/’chantes with 2 dancers to “Single Ladies,” and then hits that all-important pose at the end….holding up her left hand to show that Hov “put a ring on it.” Crowd eats it up.
-So how did someone trick Weezy into going through the Izod Center metal detector? And was Weezy with a ladyfriend?…..more dish and video after the jump…

Cryptic message from Jennifer Hudson’s sister Julia
Posted by Miss Info under Crime , Life Beyond Rap , Relationships and Family , Sigh[76] Comments
After the staggering triple murder of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew, the police in Chicago are still not naming William Balfour, the estranged husband of Jennifer’s sister Julia, as their suspect. But after bringing him in for questioning as a “person of interest,” they were able to keep him past 48 hours by transferring him to prison for a parole violation. Meanwhile, there reports in the local papers are painting a grim picture of motives and inconsistencies. There were reports that on the morning of the murders, Julia Hudson found that her paycheck had been garnished because of missed car payments. Car payments that Balfour was supposed to pay. They allegedly argued over that…
Also, the Chicago Tribune reports:
“Records also show that Balfour missed a meeting with his parole agent on Friday, the day Hudson’s mother and brother were murdered and her 7-year-old nephew went missing. Reached by phone that afternoon, he told the agent he was “baby-sitting on the West Side of Chicago,” according to the documents, obtained by The Associated Press.”
But its this message on Julia Hudson’s myspace page that reads like a confirmation of suspicions…
“BECAUSE I CHOSE TO DO WHAT WAS NATURAL TO ME AND LOVE SOMEONE, IT COST ME MY BEAUTIFUL FAMILY MY WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL LOVING SUPPORTING MOTHER DARNELL, MY TRUE BLUE BABY BROTHER JASON , I LOVE U BIG BABY … AND LAST BUT NEVER NOT LEAST MY ONLY SON JULIAN , MY INNOCENT BABY ONE THAT WAS SHELTERED FROM ALL THE EVIL IN THE WORLD BECAUSE WE LOVED HIM SO MUCH…”

anyone who knows me knows 1) I don’t do the whole industry schmooze circuit too tough, 2) I like old drug raps, 3) I’m serious about food, 4) I have a shoe problem, 5) and, if I’m in the room, don’t ever come sideways out your mouth about Shaheem Reid. I’ll spare you the many antics me and Sha have been through over the years, lol.

The Reason Why Lil Wayne Stood Up Boston and Jay-Z…
Posted by Miss Info under Concerts , Hmmm? , Not Good For Hip Hop , Quotes[34] Comments
Lil Wayne was due to perform at the big Monster Jam concert in Boston last night, with Jay-Z and many more. But, with his whole set up onstage, Weezy didnt show…leaving the fans screaming “We want Weezy,” and Jay-Z forced to fill two sets. Luckily, Hov was more than capable of doing that, he performed extra songs with DJ AM on the turntables…
But why?
Well,in the neverending struggle between Lil Wayne vs The Metal Detector….(just like at Radio City Music Hall for the Vogue Fashion Rocks Show…and almost like at Beacon Theater in NYC)…the Metal Detector prevailed, and Weezy retreated to his tourbus.
Here’s the play-by-play from the Ramiro and Pebbles Morning Show on Boston’s 94.5
[audio:lil wayne radio.mp3]Not a good look. I wonder if Hov is salty at Wayne and whether Wayne’s immaturity will affect tonite’s show.
(thanks so much to DJ Big Cesar from WJMN Jam’n 94.5 in Boston)

Q-tip and friends celebrate The Renaissance

Congrats to the homie Qtip for the release of his first solo album in an long time, The Renaissance. Along with being an incredibly nice and hilarious guy, Tip is very talented, so definitely go support his album on Tuesday.
On Monday night, Target threw Tip a posh bash at the Bowery Hotel with DJ Scratch on the wheels and folks like 88 Keys, Nas, Fonzworth and more in attendance.
Lucky for us, Mike Fresh caught video of these congratulatory speeches from QTip’s pals Ali Shaheed Muhammed, Talib Kweli, Mark Ronson, and Rza…
(thanks to Big D the Weatherman and Ben from Catalyst Group)
After the jump, peep Q-tip’s performance (after he was coaxed onstage by Cons, lol) and photos of the partygoers…

Love Jadakiss to def and all that, but this 4minute video is about 3 minutes too long. He had to change the name of his upcoming album,”Kiss My Ass” to “The Last Kiss.”
Got it.

Reverend Murder Mason Mase Betha and his wife….

wear caramel-colored turtleneck sweaters.
No disrespect to anyone’s faith, their sincere belief in a higher power, no matter how that power is named. And respect to Mase’s new lifestyle (consistent or not), but some of the “no difference of opinion” creeps me out, as well as this part:
“If you marry a man that doesn’t have a mission, you’re following a blind leader….that’s why the women end up leading the family, talking the most, and paying most of the bills….Now with me, I already had a mission so I was ready for SUBmission [points to wife], cuz I had a mission…ahahaha, you like that?”
hmm. No, not really, Betha.
