But this Freddyo-shot video clip from Karrine Steffans aka Supahead’s 30th birthday party in her new hometown of Atlanta is…..um…..another strong case for drinking at home…..and chastity belts.
Wow….there are absolutely no rules of engagement at this point. While Game and Young Buck were yelling “50 Cent can suck my d–k” onstage at Irving Plaza…..Thisis50.com was cooking up a vengeful (if not illegal) plan.
The Game performed at Irving Plaza and called in a slew of guest appearances…..I didn’t get to see everyone performing but backstage and onstage, I saw Raekwon, Ghostface, Fat Joe, Trife da God, Joe Budden (who I heard performed part of “Who?”), Teyana Taylor, Kool Herc, Smack DVD and more. (Photos posted after the jump….)
But I did catch the “celeb drama” segment of the show when Game brings out Young Buck…….Oh boy, lol.
The two former G-unit members did a whole G-unot tribute together. Then later on in the show, Jim Jones came out and performed “Certified Gangsta” with Game.
(thank you to Big Theo and Gee-Spin for helping me get a birds-eye view)
Here’s a video that Mike Fresh took from the balcony (I’ll add my video footage later).
Tonite, there were not one but two big concerts within walking distance of each other….(and Maino was at both, lol.)
Young Jeezy tore down the Blender Theater for Hot97’s show. Meanwhile the Game played Irving Plaza. (I’ll address Game and guests in the next post)
Jeezy ran through old hits and new….and as I twittered (for the first time) with blog-pals while I was there….his voice was extra-gravelly, like he had gargled Everclear this morning. And the crowd absotutely loved it.
Trusty Mike Fresh was onhand to videotape the goodies for you, while I chatted with DJ S&S on the side.
I’m not sold on the song yet, have to listen to it a couple more times, but I like the artwork. Cute.
UPDATE: Hyun hit me up on the comments to let me know (and flick me in the head) that this Cool Kids/Mountain Dew collabo is another one of the quality Seed Gives Life projects…..just like the recent campaign where Mountain Dew sponsored custom-designed bottles by some of my favorite artists, like Haze, Stash and more…..(click here to see those goodies)
Big up to him and my longtime friend Hawaii Mike. No wonder the site looked cool but not too cool to the point of alienating, lol. Now why didn’t any of your guys hit me up personally about it….hmmm? (reverse finger-flick!)
This collabo video from Kanye and Takashi Murakami is so cute! you can also see alot of the influences of legendary Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki….like the characters standing in line at Kanye’s bus-stop and the creatures from Miyazaki’s Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro.
(I was hoping this was just false internet rumor, but if Shaheem Reid says its real, its real……by the way, thank you to Juan Garcia for the early heads up)
Dre’s namesake, 20 year old son, Andre Romelle Young Jr, was found dead this past weekend….here’s a quote from the MTV News story…
“Andre Romelle Young Jr., the son of rapper and pioneering hip-hop producer Dr. Dre, was found dead in his Woodland Hills, California, home Saturday morning, according to Dre’s representative. He was 20 years old.
An autopsy was conducted on Young’s body Monday, but a cause of death has not yet been determined, pending the results of a toxicology report, a representative for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office told MTV News. The coroner’s rep confirmed that an Andre Romelle Young Jr. passed away Saturday, but was uncertain if he was Dre’s son; Dre’s rep confirmed that information Tuesday (August 26).
Young was discovered in his bed at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday by his mother, who attempted to rouse him, the coroner’s spokesperson said. Young was unresponsive, so she called paramedics, who responded to the scene. After their efforts to revive him failed, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the coroner’s spokesperson, Young had spent the previous evening with friends. His mother told police that he’d returned home Saturday at around 5:30 a.m., and that she’d heard him in his bedroom. Police said they did not suspect foul play.”
How many kids did Dre have?
At first I thought the young man who passed was the same one seen in Michell’e’s lap during the “Ain’t Nothing But a G-Thing” video….but that son Marcel is a few years younger.
And its not his older son, Curtis aka Hood Surgeon.
