“Belly” is actually one of my guilty pleasure favorites (the mogulus crew know that, lol), and I even enjoyed the old DMX/Steven Seagal and Jet Li flicks….but this upcoming movie, Last Hour, looks absolutely hilarious. And maybe not intentionally. (No wonder it goes straight to DVD.) This scene had me on the floor….
But on another note, I hear that X has a crazy interlude on Game’s upcoming “LAX” album. And I’d never count him out musically.
The folks at Concrete Loop posted some paparazzi shots from the Biggie biopic set (click here for more)….
Antonique Smith, the actress playing Faith has the hair and the vintage mid-90’s R&B gear down, lol. The outfit on Gravy is not just his between takes ‘fit…its for a specific scene.
Props to Rahman and Jayson over at MTV News, today they reported….
“Pap said [he and Remy Ma] are moving forward with their nuptials despite Ma’s predicament and are making arrangements to marry in prison.
“We always wanted to keep our personal lives personal, so that’s why we never went public with our relationship,” he wrote in an e-mail to MTV News. “Right now, I just feel like she gotta live through me. Yes, we were scheduled to be married on a yacht April 27th. But due to circumstances beyond our control, we are now making arrangements to be married in prison.
All her supporters who feel Remy had an influence on their life should write a short letter to the judge asking for the shortest sentence possible,” he wrote. “Send it to [email protected].”
*naming props go to the chatpals on the MissInfoTV videoplayer (I can’t remember if it was Sport, BBatson, Amp, Almighty, juS, Misfit, or another regulars who suggested this one)
“when you have a reputable newspaper like the Los Angeles Times with a Pulitzer Prize winner like Chuck Philips to validate a rumor, then it becomes real…When you Google me, this affects me regardless, forever. I could always rebut a rumor, but this is something that’s well more damaging. And I think Chuck Philips had no regards to my reputation, for myself as a businessman, myself as a father, a family man, somebody’s son. And I think he did irreparable damage to my career, my reputation and everything else. I don’t think there is no other reward for me or my family that he can do. An apology isn’t going to do it. There has to be some form of reprimand in the sense of his job. He needs to lose his job.”
PART 2: I received some interesting documents today from a colleague. The docs originated from the office of Jimmy Rosemond’s lawyer Jeffrey Lichtman.
In these handwritten letters, duped LA Times writer Chuck Phillips asks two prison inmates to grant him interviews for his Biggie/Tupac investigative reports. The tone is insteresting.
On Thursday night, a publicist named Joli Oshay offered a statement about Max B, regarding a shooting altercation that allegedly happened the night before.
Early this morning, another publicist, Arie Goode, released a statement refuting…or as she put it, “renouncing” (smh, lol) the previous Max B statement… “This email is renouncing earlier reports that Hip-Hop artist Max B had been attacked at a used car dealership in Queens, NY on March 27th 2008 and injured with gunshot wounds, as stated on a popular New York gossip show. Nothing of the sort has happened and all earlier reports released by ghost- writer publicist Joli Adore, who has no affiliation with Max or his management company are bogus. Max B who is managed by Lazy K Productions is safe and in high spirits on tour promoting his latest project Million Dollar Baby 2, which is on sale now. Max did want to ensure his fans that all shows dates for this weekend are still on.”
Ok…..I’m gonna assume, that the “popular New York gossip show” refers to my “Celebrity Drama Report” on the Funkmaster Flex show, on Hot97 NYC. But in the interest of saving face, this new PR rep thought she could undo the damage done by Publicist-A, by insinuated that your girl Info got “ChuckPhillips-ed” or something….
You sure you wanna go there?
(cue Keek da Sneak hook….”dumb…dumb…dumb..dumb…tell me when to go“)
Let’s follow the smoking gun….
1) “Nothing of the sort happened.”: this refers to rumors that Max B had an altercation at a car dealership in Queens (or neighboring part of Long Island).
Now, they know, that I know, that they know, that yes, something “of the sort” happened.
The reason I know this is because Max was not alone when this altercation happened. There were 3 different kinds of eyewitnesses. There were the people who initiated the “fight.” There were people who were bystanders (remember, this was a place of business). And there was a person who was accompanying Max, himself. Ironically, I would have never gone into these details if Publicist-B hadn’t tried to discredit me in her “Offecial Max B Press Release” (yes, that’s how she spelled it). But since she did try, then I guess I’ll also mention that I was offered photographic proof of the incident. Which I turned down….then, at least.
2) “earlier reports released by ghostwriter publicist Jolie Adore [aka Joli Oshay] are bogus.”:
Duhh. Obviously, there were some gaping holes in Publicist-A’s announcement. Namely, her repeated description of Max being in “critical condition.” Which is why I called attention to that in my post, by writing, “there are conflicting accounts about the altercation. Not to mention, how can you be in critical condition…at the crib?”
But another reason for my skepticism….was the fact that I had already talked to a source close to Max B. This source is the one person I completely trust in his circle. And this source did not deny an altercation, but insisted that Max was “doing ok.” A far cry from the melodrama of the battling publicists.
3) “Jolie Adore has no affilation with Max B.”:
Oh yeah? Well she did last night! LOL…..because my Max B insider confirmed Publicist-A’s and Publicist-B’s roles as aspiring (read unpaid) Biggavelli “reps,”…….only using a much less flattering term.
So, there you go….breaking down the battle of the Max B publicists. Next time you ladies are looking for approval from a coveted “client” figure out how to do it without 1) making your client look worse, not better, and 2)trying to put me in your hot mess. My listeners/readers see right through that. And Max B and his team probably do too. (Update:…ok, that was an overestimation, lol)
(props to Lazy K and First Lady El. Lazy is listed as Max’s manager)
Those are some highfalutin’ fleetfooted Filipinoy boys! (plus Kevin, lol) Congrats to the Jabbawockeez on winning the show I’m most ashamed of watching….America’s Best Dance Crew.
Earlier today a judge approved the unique terms of T.I.’s plea deal…In exchange for pleading guilty to two counts of illegal possession of machine guns and silencers, and one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a gun, TI is avoiding a prolonged expensive trial and the possibility of a 30 year sentence. His punishment pales in comparison…..One year and a day of jail time (with possibility of time off for good behavior), that wont start until next year. Until then, TI must perform 1000 hours of community service, specifically talking to youth groups across the country. He must also pay a $100,000 fine. But this delayed jail term means that TI will be able to 1)release his album this year and earn money, 2) be home for the birth of his song later this spring.
There will be quite the heavy anvil hanging over TI’s head though….the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports…
“If [Tip “T.I” Harris] does not abide by the terms of the plea agreement, [Judge] Panell can sentence him up to 57 months in prison. In addition, Harris could face a sentence of up to 97 months in prison if Panell finds that Harris has not accepted responsibility for his actions.”
Personally, I feel like TI’s gun jones was a matter of nurture, not nature. And he seems like a smart enough man to take this sobering reality check and learn from it. Just my opinion…
Last night, I got word that Max B had been attacked at a used car dealership in Queens and targeted for a diamond-studded watch.
This morning, birdie hit me to say that Max B had been shot.
This afternoon, an insider assured me that Max was “ok,” and that he had no comment about the possibility that he was shot. However, Max did insist that he was not robbed.
Early this evening, a woman who introduced herself as Max B’s publicist, reached out to clarify that Max B was indeed shot, and was apparently, in critical condition.
Joli Adore says her client, Max, was shot twice last night. Once in the arm, once in the side. And that he fled the scene, sought medical attention but then opted to go home, rather than stay in a hospital. She emphasized the fact that he is currently in critical condition (which doesn’t seem safe or sterile). When I asked if the shooting was related to those earlier attack reports, Max (via Joli) said that the incident happened in Long Island, not Queens, and again denied that he was robbed. Max did want to assure his fans that he is alive and said, “look out for Domain Pain, the mixtape.”
The whole situation still seems pretty murky, given that there are conflicting accounts about the altercation. Not to mention, how can you be in critical condition…at the crib? That’s downright deadly!
But, for better or more likely for worse, I think we’ll be hearing/seeing more on this situation soon.
Is anyone looking at the endgame here? All this violence is not the move.
