mariah-carey-nye-2017-3

One year after a disastrous moment that made headlines, Mariah Carey returned to NYC’s Times Square on New Year’s Eve for redemption. The iconic singer appeared on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest on Sunday night (Dec. 31), braving the freezing temperatures to perform her ’90s hits “Vision of Love” and “Hero.” The performance went without a hitch as Carey sung both songs live to usher in 2018.

Last year’s appearance turned into a disaster as Carey had technical difficulties while performing “Emotions.” The songstress would abruptly stop singing, pacing around the stage, telling the audience to finish her lyrics. Soon after it turned into a back-and-forth between Carey’s team and Dick Clark Productions after Mariah claimed the company sabotaged her performance. DCP would release a statement soon after calling Carey’s claim “absurd.” “I’m feeling a lot better than last year,” said Carey, when asked by Ryan Seacrest how her return went.
