T.I.’s official freedom will have to wait. The choice of using his own personal bus as transportation from an Arkansas prison to a Halfway House in Atlanta has sent him back to prision and delayed his release until September 29th. According to TIP’s Lawyer, Steve Sadow, they received no formal notice from prison officials explaining what his client is accused of doing wrong.

“The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) appears to have an issue with the circumstances surrounding TI’s transportation from Arkansas to Atlanta. T.I. got on a private bus in the prison’s parking area in full view of BOP employees. Indeed, he was actually escorted to the bus by a prison guard.”

WOW!! Beyonce showed up to the MTV Video Music Awards in a flowing red gown that was uncharacteristically loose…..and according to MTV, she dropped the bomb on everyone:
Beyonce is pregnant! She and Jay-Z are expecting their first baby!

Seeing as how I just saw her drop down and get many many eagles on at the Roseland Ballroom just a few weeks ago…it’s safe to say, she is not letting morning sickness or a baby bump stop her grind. Kudos on that! Beyonce was pregnant when she did this on top of a piano!!!

How shitty must Weezy feel about that kidnap line now, lol.

More photos of Beyonce’s new pregnancy glow : )

After topping the Hip-Hop Cash King list, Jay-Z along with his wife Beyoncé were named one of the highest-paid celebrity couples. In Forbes’ new Highest-Paid Celebrity Couples list, the duo finished second behind Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady, overall bringing in an estimated combined total of $72 million. That tops the music field, with Bey racking up $32 million with her Deréon clothing line, along with endorsements from L’Oreal and others. Mr. Carter’s earnings of $37 million were previously noted from his $150 million Live Nation deal, 40/40 Club, ad agency Translation, and his stake in the New Jersey Nets.

The accolades for Eminem continue as Rolling Stone has crowned the heavyweight ‘King of Hip-Hop.’ The list of 20 finalists is based off album sales, views on Youtube, concert sales, awards, and other categories related to social media. All artists who made the list had to have released at least one solo album out since 2009. Lil’ Wayne, Drake, Kanye West, and Jay-Z round out the top five with Nicki Minaj the only female to make the list coming in at #6.

Beyonce Knowles turned out New York’s Roseland Ballroom for the first of her four-night residency. She murdered it. Singing, dancing, emoting, thanking, lifecoaching, storytelling, juking, jazz-handing, orbit gum smiling, and of course, lots of feminine wiling and hip-notizing.

But the best example of Beyonce’s venus voodoo power came during her performance of “1+1.” Kneeling on the hood of a white piano, sweat glistening, in her gold-sequined teddy and shiny Ice Capades pantyhose….King Bey belted out the ballad while quad-pumping to the beat.

Watch the video above…but skip to the 3:30 mark!!
Holy When-Harry-Met-Sally Rapture.

I mean really….the venue was majority sistren and stylish gay men but maybe even some of them had involuntarily emissions after that final back arch.

Wow. Totally completely wow. Watch this vintage TV clip from the mid-90’s of the late great Notorious B.I.G. performing “Big Poppa” with a live band, back-up singers, Puff Daddy and Lil’ Cease…on MTV’s The Jon Stewart Show. Can you imagine? 1994-1995: Jon Stewart actually had a hour-long talk show on MTV that competed with the big boys like Dave Letterman and Jay Leno. Obviously it failed. But the same team created The Daily Show later, and just look how great it’s become.
But getting back to BIG….this would have been one of the few and biggest TV looks that Biggie could have gotten at the time. I don’t know that they were as open minded to hip hop on the Tonight Show as they are now? And you can hear the influence of the g-funk trend in the cheesy jazzified live band and singers. I still love it though.
Props to ThaaRapBasement for the gem.

Legend: We’re all about positivity and being an example to kids, so watching a remix of “Teach Me How To Dougie” being used as a way to teach kids how to study, is always commended (shout out to Yoshi for killing the 3rd verse!).

At the end of the day, maybe one of these kids ends up being the next owner of a large corporation, the next president, or 2nd grade teacher. You never know. Just think, this is how Big Sean got his start too. He do it!

Legend: We all know the problems many countries across our globe suffer from, which include poverty, malnutrition, lack of water, etc. Even more developed countries like Japan, who suffered yet another rattling earthquake of magnitude 6.7 early Thursday or Northern Ireland, battling the religious tension-turned-riots in the streets.

But back on the home front, today’s kids have a different set of problems… like knowing whether they should eat breakfast or lunch if they sleep in ’til noon. Or being locked out of the neighbor’s wifi after successfully leeching from it for months. HA!

Whoever this kid is, he probably described the ills of today’s suburban youth to the T, but we’re hoping he’s just being comical because there are bigger things to worry about.

Things on the horizon: A record label offering this kid a million dollar deal? (would anybody be the least bit surprised if they made it happen?)
Thuggish ruggish moment: Killing a spider with a dollar because he didn’t have a tissue.

Earlier this week I stopped by the really cool pop-up market W+K Shop, put together by friend Phil Chang and Wieden+Kennedy (ad agency for Nike, Target, Levis, etc.). They had amazing gear and accessories (Clae shoes, A Peace Treaty scarves, A-Morir sunglasses and more) and its open to the public ’til Mon. I also got a chance to catch up with DJ Nick Catchdubs at the Fool’s Gold table…he and Atrak have some big moves coming next week, but he also mentioned that our girl Kid Sister is working on a new EP and and album follow-up to UltraViolet.
He knows that I loved the Kid Sister x Gucci Mane “Gucci Rag Top” record….so Nick sent over a dance remix of Kelly Rowland’s monster “Motivation” that combines a juke beat (via Chicago’s DJ Nehpet) and a new Kid Sister verse!

Now if you aren’t familiar with juke music….its like Chicago house music on amphetamines, lol. Super fast, raunchy, and thumping. And juke dancing will either give you a seizure or get you impregnated!

Honestly, Paris’ interview with Weezy isn’t so bad. I’m sure someone helped her structure the interview (actually Dimitri Ehrlich did) but she kept the convo interesting and moving smoothly. The airhead heiress touched on some light topics such as whether or not Weezy Googles himself and of course his stint in jail. She could relate. Read the whole interview at InterviewMagazine.

HILTON: Do you ever read your own press, or google yourself?

WAYNE: Um, never. I don’t think I’ve ever googled myself. [laughs] But I do read some things that . . . I mean, if I know that I was with an interviewer and I kind of figure that he or she got something bad or something good from the interview, then I’ll read the piece when it comes out. But other than that, I’d have to have a reason to read it-and, usually, I don’t have a reason. So, no, I don’t really read too much, because I know you know that they word things the way they want to word them when they put it on paper.

HILTON: It was kind of a controversial move when you released the album Rebirth last year, because it was sort of a rock album. How did you feel about the response to the album?

WAYNE: Oh, I was actually overwhelmed by it because I was surprised that record sold so well. It still went gold. So I was actually overwhelmed that people even got it because, if you’d asked me before, I thought it wasn’t gonna do shit. I thought it was gonna sell about 200,000 copies at the most. I really didn’t get to promote it well because I had to take my little eight-month vacation, but other than that, I think if I would have had more time to promote it, then it would have done better than it did.
