Sony Pictures To Produce Dapper Dan Biopic

In a culture where living legends rarely ever get to have their flowers while they can still smell it, Harlem hustler turned fashion icon Dapper Dan’s life story is coming to the big screen. Sony Pictures will produce the film, which was inspired by Dan’s upcoming memoir, in conjunction with Jerrod Carmichael. Described as a “high-stakes coming-of-age story,” Ange Giannetti and Maia Eyre will oversee the project for the studio.

More details are set to be released soon. In the meantime, watch Life + Times intimate interview with the streetwear pioneer and childhood friend Pee Wee Kirkland after the jump.

If you were a fan of the Lo before all the recent Snow Beach hype, this documentary is for you.

For their new “Original Is Never Finished” campaign, adidas Originals tap three of our favorite artists who are also known for their originality. Reinforcing the idea that creativity is a constant loop in which the past forges a path for the future, the accompanying commercial features A$AP Ferg, Playboi Carti and KAYTRANADA, as well as other adidas ambassadors like NBA star Nick Young, Real Madrid defender Marcelo and Chinese singer/actor Lu Han. Of course, the clip also highlights adidas’ 2018 items, including the Crazy 1 ADV, Prophere and EQT BASK ADV.

Last year, A$AP Ferg teamed up with adidas for his Trap Lord collection while Playboi Carti starred in the brand’s “Crazy” campaign alongside Young Thug and 21 Savage.

Taking a break from promoting his newly released Friday On Elm Street project with Jadakiss, Fabolous threw a Masquerade Ball in celebration of his 40th birthday. Friends, family and close peers like Jadakiss, Dave East, Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz were all in attendance, dressed their best in stylish suits and masks.

The biggest surprise of the night came from Fabolous’ manager and long-time friend Lenny “Lenny. S” Santiago. The Roc Nation executive presented Livin’ Good Loso with the iconic Roc-A-Fella chain as a birthday gift from JAY-Z. “Family for not just the gift, but the bond of friendship. The Rocafella Chain not only symbolizes that, but it’s also a piece of Hip Hop Culture! & it was only right it was given to me by my brother @kodaklens🙌🏾 ,” said Fab in an Instagram post, capturing the moment.
