Reflection Eternal & Statik Selektah – The RE:Union

Mikey: This should provide some balance considering the last bunch of songs posted. A mix of some of the old, unreleased, and new.

tracklisting after the jump…

Mikey: Maybe a new sound will take over urban radio in the new year, but probably not.  A couple of new joints here and you can pretty much just guess what they sound like… not terrible though, just predictable.

Mikey: The certified queen cougar, Ms. Vivica Fox appeared on the Mo’Nique Show last night and when asked about her past relationship with Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent, it looks like her emotions got the best of her. She also mentions that their relationship was genuine but that people got in 50’s ear and caused the break up. (Props to NecoleBitchie via DimeWars)

“When I dated “Curtis”, I met him as “Curtis” he just happened to be a rap star. We went out too fast, we were very excited about each other and wanted to scream at the top of our lungs “I’m in Love”. Then people got in his ear and we unfortunately broke up. Then there was albums and songs and statements that I will say a young man made but now he has grown up….and he came to me as a man and said “I’m sorry”..and I forgave him. That was hard. And I was so glad I had a wonderful family, especially my daddy who said “He didn’t make you and he sure ain’t gonna break you”

My girl Angela Yee caught up with Joe Budden and audience member Jay Electronica at SOBs for day 2 of Joe’s sold out concerts. Jay E didnt jump on stage, but I’m sure we’ll see these two together again soon. By the way, Jay….Thank you for the thank you : ) More good times in 2010.

Previously: Joe Budden performs music from The Escape Route on Monday

After the jump, Prezzure/RR caught many many clips from Tuesday’s show..

TMZ reports:

Teddy’s 18-year-old daughter Taja Riley was granted a temporary restraining order against her dad — claiming 43-year-old Teddy abused her and her older sister by “stomping, punching and bashing them” in his L.A. home on December 23.

In the documents, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Taja claims at one point Teddy, “lifted a Rock Band guitar and threatened to kill person(s) w/ it.”

The holidays light fire to pent-up family tension like a tattered extension cord to dry Christmas tree needles. And the house that “New Jack City” built got crazy between Teddy Riley,  his daughters Taja and Deja, and his girlfriend, Bita. Not only did the physical altercation allegedly happen, but it was world war iii on twitter too. Daughter Deja tweeted that the girlfriend was “a golddigger” who met Teddy “2 months ago” and is the “same age” as her (Deja is 21 years old). (For more, check Necole Bitchie)

Bita tried to defend herself (and cancel her twitter at Teddy’s request). Taja joined in to tell her followers that her dad had beaten her and her sister…

UPDATE: Teddy Riley released a statement denying that he beat his daughters…

I love my Daughters, but I will not allow my children to disrespect me in my home. Contrary to what I have been accused of, I would never beat my children.

Perhaps, I should have been a stronger disciplinarian as they were growing up. I worked very hard so that my children would want for nothing.

In hindsight, I see that it was a mistake to give them everything they wanted so that they could have the childhood I never had. Unfortunately, they have taken me, and the privileged life I have given them, completely for granted. Instead of being appreciative and realizing how fortunate they are, my children have an inflated sense of entitlement and expectation without having to work or earn their way….”

(More after the jump…)

Cam’ron is apparently working on a new Gangsta Grillz 2 (oh wait, their planned 2009 Gangsta Grillz one never came out…duh, yes it did. This is Gangsta Grillz 2, all new stuff) and it’s supposed to drop on January 4th, 2010. (thanks to Skitzo/UN and DJ Drama)

Oh and….it looks like Killa lost that Tom Selleck ‘tache for the new year ; )

Skillz “2009 Rap Up” (CDQ) (via Nahright)

Mikey: Right on schedule, Skillz drops the CDQ of his yearly “Rap Up”. I’m actually kind of wanting Maino’s “Predictions 2010” too.

(spotted at Illroots)

Mikey: This past Sunday night at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC, Kid Cudi took a minute to address all the negative press he’s been receiving since he punched an innocent fan in the face on the account of mistaken identity.

“They tryin’ to make me look like the poster boy for violence… for ignorance. I tell motherfuckers I’m  the poster boy for honesty, realness… anarchy. I don’t give a fuck about this business.

I never talk shit, right?  Even on my album, it’s just” go to the record”,  “go to the record.” You never hear me talking shit on skits, never hear me talking shit on songs. I just rap, right? Well because of my silence n*ggas try to take jabs at me… jabs at me. Well guess what I’m jabbing back!

I’m probably the coolest muthafucka in this business but people are trying to destroy me. All these other n*ggas that yall are probably fans of are sucka ass n*ggas. I met them and I’m not a fan of their music anymore.

This business is WWF fam,  if you don’t comply they try and destroy you. But it’s cool because I got yall right?

3 Grammy nominations, I win I in!!!”

After he admitted to having some liquor in system but remained adamant on his feelings.

(Cudi performs a new song off Cudder after the jump)

Mikey: Last night, Jumpoff Joe Budden rocked the 1st of his back to back sold out shows at SOBs in New York City.  With about 80% of the crowd made up of dudes that took either a bridge or a tunnel to get to the venue, Jersey was in clear support. Before letting Joell Ortiz get some shine, Budden went in on a new joint from his forthcoming album The Great Escape, it may be “Pray For Me pt.2” but he didn’t say. (shouts to Kozza)

“reminded my past is darker/ when AM Died I was starin’ at Travis Barker”
