Maino x MissInfo: Drinking too much, Breaking down onstage, and Counting blessings

Maino and I sat down a while back at the station, this was after he had that breakdown onstage in Long Island. Maino had recently found out that his best friend was shot in the back by police in Brooklyn. (Update: His friend is still paralyzed, but Maino says his spirits are up and he is responding to therapy.)
I thought about this convo after reading Maino’s recent tweet about being thankful for his accomplishments (no matter how they measure up in the marketplace,) and wanted to share….

LOL @ Ms. Info’s face when Maino tries to justify drinking every night in a club “Drinking makes you feel strong..”.

first when people drink alone its not always a bad thing. sometimes we just need to sit and let the Drinks calm us down or make us laugh. What I like bout Maino is no matter what he still remains humbled. I wish more hip hop stars would be like that. I mean I just wish they would remember no matter how much money, fan, property,or sales you still are human and don’t need to ask like our above another human. I hope he rubs off on more stars in the game.

In regards to his record sells I mean shit he dropped the same day Michael Jackson died everybody in the world was watching tv… That’s like expecting a new artist to do large numbers on 9/11 shit at least his first one is in the stores!
You also have to commend dude for making it this far and not getting caught up in the bullshit, think about it Papoose, Uncle Murder and Graft ALL CAME BEFORE HIM! They all had great political connects.. Papoose had THE MASSIVE TOUCH IT SONG with busta and even was on th same stage with Eminem and he still hasn’t released an album, Uncle Murder did the Brooklyn song with Jay-Z and Fabolous and nothing yet because him and pap soo busy fucking with each other that they not focusing on getting a record in the stores JACKASSES! And Graft while not really that talented had Dame Dash pushing on the Ultimate Hustler tv show on B.E.T and his career is still in mixtape mode.. so whether its 8k or 18k you have to respect Maino for just having an album in the fucking store and while we all know hes a nut on the inside he’s not letting that effect his hustle game AND THAT’S THE TYPE OF SHIT PEOPLE SHOULD RESPECT!! Cant wait for the next album..

I debated over and over when I brought busta, red and meth, sheek louch, and the lox albums if I should buy mainos album. While I think that maino brings something different in a artist, I still kept thinking should I buy it off of two singles? I still haven’t decided, so to any of the missinfo followers…did you buy it and do you feel like you wasted money or no??

Not sure you can use MJ dying as an excuse and then go on to compare it to a new artist releasing an album on 9/11. News of MJ passing didn’t hit the East coast until around 7pm that day. In regards to 9/11, Fabolous did 143k, that was his debut. I understand this is a different era though.

Mademoiselle Info…
Im liking this, Maino is one of those rare artists that can actually be real in an interview…He really gives his audience the impression that they’ve been friends for years. It’s pretty unique.
Good luck to you homie.

Good lawd that gurl cute! (hood moment over)
Anyway… LOL @ Maino sayin he “don’t drink patron no more” like that makes a difference. “Yeah but alcohol is still alcohol”.
Anyway… I haven’t watched a Maino interview yet that made me think he wasn’t a real genuine person. He really is. Much props and much respect to the man.

miss info is the best…seriously. maino keeps it real all the time. he does need some intervention just to be safe. i didn’t get maino’s album yet but i will cop 2 of them it makes moresense to support the real more often than the fake.
