Former Roc Artist Amil Denies Twitter Account Rumors, Still Wants Closure From Jay-Z
Posted by Gabz under Quotes , Uncategorized[16] Comments
Gabz: After fading to obscurity Amil, who once rapped next to Jay-Z, appeared to have popped up on Twitter via the handle (@AMIL_DOE) earlier this week. However, the rapper, who was once signed to Roc-A-Fella Records back in 2000, sat down with VIBE and revealed she is not on Twitter or Facebook. She explained, “Sometimes things like this surprise me because I haven’t been in the spotlight in awhile, but when I come up it always seems to be something negative. That’s something I try my hardest to stay away from. It does bother me a little bit but I let it go after while.”
She also talked about her ex-boss Mr. Carter…and about the rumors she was dropped from the label after constant fights with him. “I haven’t spoken to Jay in years but I really wish I could talk to him because that would just really bring closure to me. But he knows I love him. People think there was bad blood between us, but there never was any bad blood.”
Amil is currently working on an urban fiction novel with an accompanying soundtrack.
Amil talks Nicki Minaj
After the jump…
Amil on Nicki Minaj:
“I got mad respect and love for Nicki. She’s doing it really big and that’s odd for a female. It’s really hard for a female rapper… out of every female entertainer, they got it the worst. I support her because behind-the-scenes she’s going through a lot. And to be able to handle that— that’s big.”

You’re not fooling anyone. This article is as fake as her alleged Twitter handle. An ex-Roc employee NOT blaming Hov for any and everything? A former Hip Hop heiress NOT hating Nick Minaj for being successful? Get the fuck out of here.

Closure from what? lol It’s been like 15 yrs if she hasn’t had closure she needs to seek professional help! Sounds like another hand-out ploy to me. She had her chance if she didn’t capitalize that’s on her.
Not to be a cave man, but female artist are usually high maintenance and hard to manage you can go down the list, olivia from g-unit etc etc. Eventually you come to a realization that if you’re not fucking her why put up with all the extra baggage lol

It’s actually cool hearing a former ROC artist not bitching about what Jay should have done for her. So that makes Freeway, Amil, MOP I think as the only Major artist who didn’t go the “Jay-Z shoulda saved me” route?

LOOOL! What the fuck other obligations could Royce Da 5’9″ possibly have had? Dude, Jay-Z and Kanye West did an album together! Do you even understand how big those guys are? No way they’re able to be in the same state let alone country at the same time ALL of the time.
Royce on the other hand is nowhere near as accomplished as Hov and ‘Ye. Hell, he’s not even as big as an artist like Fabolous. That was the biggest album of his career. He’d better be everywhere with Em promoting that shit.

The main reason why ex Roc acts blame Jay is because they were saying Roc La Familia. Roc the family. Everyone thought it was family. Alot of fans thought it was family. So it was kinda ill to see Jay just throw that whole concept away to fake retire (which was his 3rd fake retirement). Reasonable Doubt was supposed to be his only album. Then Vol 2 was supposed to be his last “Bleeks gonna be a good rapper…new improved Jay Z” Oh wait, most of yall youngins probably dont listen to full albums.
Anyway, looking back alot of ex roc acts shouldnt have been supprised of being neglected after seeing how jay treated his lil kim, i mean Amil.

TO be honest, Amil really wasn’t that hot on the mic. I think Jay did really believe the whole “family” thing up to a point. But when he felt he “outgrew” that it really became every man for themselves save for a few. Same people I legitimately feel were done wrong like Teirra Maire but those that couldn’t keep their asses out of jail? Tough break.

Shit is ridiculous in the game for female rappers. Today, I think it comes down to who have the best plastic surgery, face and body, so Nicki wins. Lil Kim’s plastic surgery is a fail. Amil doesn’t stand out at all in looks or rhyme delivery. Not sure why Hov signed her in the first place? Some people/hip-hop fans can be that vain when it’s time to choose which females win in the game.

@Angry True indeed. Case in point: We all know Missy Elliott is talented, made crazy bank off of producing/songwriting for artists and for her own albums. However, partner Timbaland did admit to press that he f**ked her (because of her big tiddays). Drake smashed Nicki. Telling me Trick Daddy didn’t f*ck Trina? And We can go back…Herbie (producer for Salt N Pepa) f**ked Salt before and after she joined the group. It’s a dirty business for females.
