Let the story begin. It’s been a long road for J.Cole to get, Born Sinner, his sophomore album completed. Admittedly, Cole says there were times when he felt depressed and unhappy with the way his songs were turning out, but his persevere and sheer desire to make the best music possible prevailed. As the album hit the Internet yesterday, shortly after Cole previewed the album for fans across North America, fans flooded Twitter with high praise. While the “classic” label may be a bit premature to toss around, it’s clear that Jermaine has produced his best project to date. Before he kicked off his media listening for Born Sinner, Jermaine gave an extensive backstory about what inspired his most talked about song, “Let Nas Down.”
