Trinidad James is definitely an artist to watch in 2013. He recently exploded onto the scene thanks to his buzzing single “All Gold Everything.” It’s catchy and works at the club, house party, and the hipster hangout. The ATLien really has a win-win track on his hands. I dare you to watch the original video and say you weren’t singing it all day afterwards.

Last night, he performed for a second time in NYC, but this time, he was the headlining act. Thanks to just one single, James packed out Santos Party House and drew out a slew of label executives and journalists. Def Jam definitely had their big wigs in the building. Though, he still maintains that he’s still unsigned, major labels have been courting the rapper for the last month or so. Rick Ross was also rumored to be interested in signing him. There’s still some variables in the Trinidad James package, though.

For one, he’s only been rapping less than a year. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The Game came into hip-hop with the same rookie stats and look how long he’s stuck around for. Also, fashion seems to be his first love. Trinidad still has his hands in the fashion industry, and there’s the possibility he could go on to focus his work on clothes instead of music at some point. However, for now he’s on his way up the rap food chain. There’s no question that he had NYC on tilt last night. He reportedly performed his hit single twice to insane fanfare. His second performance came from ontop of the club’s bar. The proof is in the footage. What do you think of the kid?
