Trinidad James Destroys NYC Concert: Is He Hip-Hop’s Next Big Star?
Posted by Mikey Fresh under Videos[31] Comments
Trinidad James is definitely an artist to watch in 2013. He recently exploded onto the scene thanks to his buzzing single “All Gold Everything.” It’s catchy and works at the club, house party, and the hipster hangout. The ATLien really has a win-win track on his hands. I dare you to watch the original video and say you weren’t singing it all day afterwards.
Last night, he performed for a second time in NYC, but this time, he was the headlining act. Thanks to just one single, James packed out Santos Party House and drew out a slew of label executives and journalists. Def Jam definitely had their big wigs in the building. Though, he still maintains that he’s still unsigned, major labels have been courting the rapper for the last month or so. Rick Ross was also rumored to be interested in signing him. There’s still some variables in the Trinidad James package, though.
For one, he’s only been rapping less than a year. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The Game came into hip-hop with the same rookie stats and look how long he’s stuck around for. Also, fashion seems to be his first love. Trinidad still has his hands in the fashion industry, and there’s the possibility he could go on to focus his work on clothes instead of music at some point. However, for now he’s on his way up the rap food chain. There’s no question that he had NYC on tilt last night. He reportedly performed his hit single twice to insane fanfare. His second performance came from ontop of the club’s bar. The proof is in the footage. What do you think of the kid?
Watch all the footage, interviews and more after the jump…

Don’t hate on the dude. He is just making music. You don’t have to buy or listen to it. Also, where’s Lil B ?
December 5th, 2012 at 3:44 pm
@Mikey Fresh , i watched the video , and i thought it was trash. his music is trash , he’s part of this new dumb rap. i feel like people are really into stupid rap right now. i am not. i like lyrics that make sense and are more then about paper or shinny objects.

1) First time I saw this video I knew it was going to be a hit.
2) I like his style it is different…but I can’t help but to feel like there is a second wave of a down south explosion…like some dudes were too mellow to outshine lil jon and his counterparts.
3) Wow…it’s really hard to rock a show like that anywhere to congrats to him….but is easier when you have 300 dudes on stage.
4) i’m definitely starting to feel like Mikey is taking kickbacks or something….this was quite the post, but at least it wasn’t like some of the other bullshit he has been posting.
5)Let’s see if this guy is not next MIMS.

And another thing….my white ass wasn’t singing this bullshit all day. Since when is repeating a racial slur 10 times in a row in the hook catchy? Is that where we at in 2013?
December 5th, 2012 at 8:28 pm
I don’t listen to this guy. Out of being curious I looked at all gold everything on utube and it was THE WORST THING I EVER HEARD….KILL THIS WACK NIGGA!!!
NOOOOO SKILLS!!!!
December 5th, 2012 at 8:33 pm
The song is catchy, the video is funny as fuck and I support Trinidad James. If anybody telling me that club/bar doesn’t look like a lot of fun and you’d much rather be listening to a conscious record while riding down the street in your economy car to your cubicle then maybe you should evaluate yourself and not the music.
This ain’t J. Cole, granted. But to deny the dude has a lane and is fulfilling it is just bitter nonsense.
December 5th, 2012 at 10:00 pm
Miley, yes I’m calling you Miley Fresh, the dude admitted his damn self he’s only been rapping for ONLY TEN MONTHS! Stop trying to spoonfeed us garbage!
December 5th, 2012 at 11:01 pm
THANK YOU!!! Well said!!!
December 6th, 2012 at 8:05 am
why are you dumb n*ggas repeating the same response over and over?
just say you like simp rap. That’s all. Instead of trying to make it look like those who want better are somehow the problem.
You can make good club music that’s intelligent and well put together. Hip hop used to do it easily. Now it’s all about how dumb you are.

Hip Hop/Rap is the most divided sub-culture. Some ppl want it one way and others want it their way, but the best part about it is that it always is changing, and no other music genre is like it! So stay salty if you get hyped on ‘lyricists’, and stay fuckin wit it if ya fuck wit T.J.
December 9th, 2012 at 12:24 pm
This is awful… but if you want to support some dope Hip-Hop, check out my man Snake Hollywood “My Condolences…” EP … it features George Wilson & Ab-Soul. Best new artist of 2012 for sure! Google him.
