Posted by Mr.North under New Music , Videos[4] Comments
We’ve heard about it and now The Weekend unleashes the much-talked about video for “The Zone,” a visual in support of his Drake-collaboration off Trilogy. Originally appearing on his Thursday mixtape, The Weeknd and Drake traveled to Montreal in January to film the colorful-turned-dark clip. Arriving November 13th, Trilogy will include this video and his three critically-acclaimed mixtapes (House of Balloons, Thursday, Echoes of Silence) each carrying a brand new song.
Pre-order your copy right now on iTunes. Later this month, The Weeknd will conduct his first-ever interview conducted by BBC Radio 1.
Watch “The Zone” and stream mastered versions of the three new songs off Trilogy: “Valerie,” “Twenty Eight,” and “Till Dawn” after the jump…..
Directed by Abel Tesfaye

I’m really not liking this new version of The Zone, or Wicked Games for that matter. All these remasters with edits sound worse than the originals to me.

I agree. I liked the original Wicked Games better. This version of The Zone doesn’t sound much different give or take a couple of Abel “oooh yeaaaahhs” – the original was 8 min with Drake’s verse appearing way at the end. They had to re-arrange it a bit of the audience’s attention.

What was different about wicked games? I just caught one word that he changed. As far as this one he just cut off the breathing on the mic due to it being a video.

The mastered one has a slightly tweaked beat. It feels a little more polished. The original was more raw sounding lending itself to the feeling of the lyrics. Of course it’s still amazing.
