The Weeknd found himself in trouble with the law over the weekend. The Toronto singer-songwriter was arrested in Las Vegas early Saturday morning after an altercation with local police.

According to TMZ, the singer whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, was involved in a fight at the Cromwell Hotel around 4:20 a.m. PST. Once local authorities arrived on the scene, the brawl was still on going, forcing police to break up the fight. One officer pulled The Weeknd into an elevator, where the XO artist allegedly punched the officer in the head.

The Weeknd was arrested and charged with battery of a protected person, and later posted bail. Hours later, he took to Instagram as he left Sin City, posting a photo with the caption “escaped from Las Vegas.”
