The Dream Says He Already Pocketed $15 Mill From “Umbrella”

On his latest 1xtra show, Tim Westwood put The-Dream through the ringer. Terius kept his funky and answered all of Tim’s wild questions, including how much he made off Rihanna’s hit ‘Umbrella’, talks about his 4 children to Christina Milian & Nivea and the story behind writing “Baby” for Justin Bieber. He revealed that he gave Christina Milian a percentage of his writing credits for the track. She helped him find the right melody but didn’t actually write anything. He still showed her love, though.

Dear Mikey Fresh, @ 8:15 he says she didn’t help with the melody, he only gave her the credits as an act of generosity.

Before that, he said she sang some of the initial melodies he came up with. He eventually changed it but I would consider that helping. Guess I should have been more specific. I’ll edit.

This is really funny to Me. I just saw this dude at the Nordstrom Rack @ Garden State Plaza (a outlet type of store) recently. I know Nordstrom is expensive but $15 could get you a few things.

Yeh I can imagine he banked mucho on Umbrella… I couldn’t put a figure on it but 15 mil sounds like it makes sense.
I think Dream should stick to writing more than focusing heavily on his own career as an artist. Money is obviously in the writing anyway. His biggest hits have been tracks he has written for other artist, that tells you where his talent lies.

Whats the big deal if he made $15 mil off of Umbrella… you can’t tell me he didn’t make double that off of Bieber? I myself and 99.7% of people on here don’t care about that kid but his fan base is CRAZY. He def made the most bank off of that song
