Shyne Update: According to Belize media outlets, Shyne will be in Belize on Weds, already has music plan

The Belizean reports that Shyne’s deportation will be complete tomorrow. What’s interesting is that despite being estranged from his father for years, it seems that now Shyne’s father, the Prime Minister of Belize, will be welcoming him home at the airport. Also, its interesting that radio stations in Belize are already privy to Shyne’s alleged plan to move to Jamaica to record his next album. It would make sense though, there’s plenty of high-end recording facilities and easy access to US distribution. NOTE: one reader says that he spoke to Shyne and did not get the same details as the Belizean. So we shall see how accurate this is.
“A television station controlled by the ruling United Democratic Party of Prime Minister Dean Barrow who is Jamal’s father, reported today that the 31 year old rapper has been expelled from the U.S. and will arrive in Belize on Wednesday via a Continental Airlines flight from Houston.
The station reports that Jamal’s dad Prime Minister Barrow and his uncle Michael Finnegan (born Michael Myvett) will be on hand to receive Shyne at the Belize City airport. Mr. Finnegan, a close associate of the Prime Minister of Belize and member of the Belize Cabinet responsible for housing, has built an extension to his house in Belize City for Jamal. Mr. Finnegan raised Jamal in Belize before his emigration to the U.S.
One Belize radio station is reporting that rather than immediately attempting to emigrate to Europe to re-start his rapping career, Shyne will now try to utilise his Belize passport to move to a Caribbean country such as Jamaica to use as a base for re-igniting his recording career.”

I really hope he’s able to come back stateside. He did his time, so he should be able to re-enter society. This cat’s been through hell, from the cusp of stardom to jail time, and I honestly feel his future is immensely bright.

Jamaica is WICKED VIOLENT!
persons get bodied in JA. on an avg. of 1 every 4 hours. and there are hardly no cops there compared to gangsters. The cops are very outnumbered.

Let this be a lesson to all non US citizens living in US, apply for citizenship as soon as you can so something like this won’t happen to you.
Nice to see that Shyne has a plan in the making. It’s nicer to see a once estranged father now helping his son. Have we ever had a leader of a country with a famous rapper as their child? Now we get to see if he has learned anything about business being around Puff and reading, what I hope, countless books about music business and business as a whole. Since Shyne has been gone, we are now in the age of rappers also being entrepreneurs so it only makes sense that he has to get his business affairs in order. And actually not being in the US once he is free could turn out to be a great thing. This gives him more of a opportunity to expand his brand internationally, which is where the money is at. Also, time away from the fast pace of NYC allows him to transition into the life of freedom at a more relaxed pace. He might not even want to live in the US after spending some time outside of it. As I’ve said before, the greatest thing about this whole ordeal is a father and a son reconnecting after all of these years and you can’t put a price on that type of emotion.

Hopefulley we’ll hear from Shyne this week or next. Maybe he’ll call into hot 97 or something like that. The good news is, Shyne is finally going to be free. As far as his music career, I’m sure he’ll figure it all out. Sounds like he already has a plan….so he’ll be alright i bet
Thanks Miss Info for the shout out.

Am I the only one surprised that the US State Department let the son of a prominent official (he was someone before he was prime minister) go to jail and then deported him? If anything deportation would have been the first option upon conviction.

Hate to say this, but I do not know how accurate this is. I spoke to dude yesterday, and he said nothing about it, now, I was hoping he did this, be able to come out, get money and fight fair, but once you leave, it is hard to get back in the country, deportation is serious and this country has a way to keep you out
Dude did not mention this, last we spoke he is fighting, so we will see 2mar unless I speak to him today, but I don’t know where this person get their info (pun not intended)

Shyne = Overrated
I’ve never seen so much hoopla involving a 1 hit wonder. Why exactly is Shyne so beloved in the first place? Is it because he sounded like Biggie?
I loved that 1 single just as much as the next guy, it’s one of my favs from back in the day. But I personally could give 2 shits about this guys where-abouts. That incident was 10 years ago and he’s still on peoples radar like he was the King of NY or something.
Can someone explain what the big deal about Shyne please.

hmmm, I wonder if the Belizean is getting their news from a source within Shyne’s family on that side? I have heard that he’s getting deported and will fight to get back in from there, but….it seems crazy that the Belizean radio would know what Shyne’s musical plans are. That’s why I prefaced all of it with the actual source. I can’t confirm their details.

Theres this article too…

and they said…
“His Uncle Finnegan is building an extension on his Goldson Avenue home for him. He told us two weeks ago that he expects Shyne will resume his recording career utilizing his CARICOM Citizenship to gain access to recording studios in the Caribbean.”

Shyne=Alot potential. Thats why people are so excited, he showed alot of potential. Remember Shyne was only 19-21 years old when he made that first album. Shyne was going to get alot better and become more of an artist. His first album was a one way street because he wanted to let people know where he came from.

Can’t wait to hear Shyne’s new album…good for him! And his father coming around to support him is only better. Ofcourse I see there are some people already trying to hate by comments left above.
October 28th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
citizenship can be given or taken away it makes no difference
October 28th, 2009 at 5:24 pm
All who left disrespectful comments need to sit the hell down….Shyne is a bright person and has the potential to do a lot of good things. Diddy is going to have a lot of problems to deal with in the coming months. Shyne did 8 years for him and he did not stick by him or anything. Don’t worry Barrington Levy going to help fix all that shit. Shyne is not a 1 hit wonder, he only had two hits and that was because of the whole club shotting thing. Wait until his next album come out….I know its going to be fiyah!!!! I am one of the many people that wrote Gov. Patterson to try and get a pardon, but as we can see it didn’t get through. I am even willing to help Shyne, my brother is a producer that works with some well known people, I own a sound system, and I know some dancehall artiste. At one point or another someone needs someones help and if we are in the position to help someone then I think that we should be willing because we never know when we gonna need that person.
