The 2016 Grammy Awards took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Monday night. The 58th annual event was missing one of music’s biggest stars who was scheduled to perform, Rihanna.

TMZ reports the singer was present at rehearsals at the Staples Center, but pulled out due to bronchitis. On medication, Rihanna was recommended by an on-site doctor to rest, as she faced the risk of permanently damage her vocal cords.

The source mentions Ri Ri wanted to perform but reluctantly decided to go home. She was slated to do the song “Kiss Me Better” off her platinum-selling ANTI LP.

UPDATE: Rihanna tweeted an apology to her fans and thanked CBS.
