Whitney was spotted out a week before her passing.
Simon Cowell told CNN: “People like that can’t be manufactured. They’ve either got it or they haven’t. I was only talking about her music to a friend of mine the other day. Her records don’t sound old fashioned now. They don’t sound like they were made 20, 30 years ago. They still sound incredible. She still sounds incredible and they’re gonna sound incredible in 50 or 100 years time. There’s something about a Whitney record. It wasn’t just the power of her voice. It was the way that she could sell a song, the way that she could sell a lyric. That’s part of the reason why she was so special and the whole diva thing came with that, because she was entitled to be a diva when she’s got that much talent.”
Lionel Richie told CNN: “I’m absolutely devastated. I always say this all the time. We are a business, unfortunately, of such great talent but also of great tragedy. And we see it happen so many times from the 60s, the 70s, the 80s, the 90s. We watch them come, we watch them go and you keep thinking, it can’t happen to this next generation. It’s not going to happen and sure enough here we go again. Michael was enough just to stop traffic with me. I couldn’t believe it. And then you see Whitney. I talked to her, how are you doing? Are you okay? And you keep hoping for the best but then when you get this kind of news, there’s really nothing but silence…. She had that voice. She had that voice that could just turn a story, a melody into just magical, magical notes.”

Whitney Houston was hands down the best singing voice I’ve ever heard. She’s right up there with M.J. as one of the best to singers in music. I’ll never forget the time I got to see her in concert in the 8th grade. I’m sad for her and her family. So sad. R.I.P.

Lesson- say no to drugs…look at all the cats in hip hop that brag about them bricks….its those bricks that just killed another legend. Don’t just not use it-DONT sell it! I know no conclusion on the death is said but more than likely she OD’d. All that white product…she was a 48yr old with a heart worn out like she was 105! Smh

CRACK IS WACK!!!! we all saw this coming just like we did with amy winehouse and M.J. We were all watching(and still are) bobby brown too.
I’m so tired of people that are blessed destroying themselves. It be the most dumbest, most pointless shit that does them in. mckoley kulcon(however you spell it lol) looking all crazy, prince became a jahovas witness, demi moor snorting air out whip cream cans, Angelina jole is super skinny, madanna look like she been doing meth, al sharpton lost a gang of weight in a super short period of time etc etc. one of them gone pop up dead soon just watch.
This was my favorite song from her.

Because twitter kills everyone at least once a year, it took me a while to acknowledge that it may really be true. Damn yo..Whitney, your voice was everything! your music gave me comfort throughout my years and I am forever grateful. May your soul rest in peace. My heart goes out to her family and friends. Rest in peace Whitney..and when you get to heaven, I know you and all the greats will have a ball hunni!

Whitney for me is special because thats what my Mom and her sisters used to play around the house and dance to.
Her music takes me back to being a lil kid playing nintendo while my mum and aunts cooked, cleaned, shared laughs it was just a beautiful occasion and Whitney’s vocals were sooo soothing and relaxing, some of those people from my childhood no longer here but Whitney’s songs always kept their memory alive.
Rest in Peace Ms Houston and thank you for the beautiful music.

Yeah, I am in shock as well, and I normally never have that type of reaction especially in a celebrity death.I guess i just viewed her as a fighter and survivor spiritually.
Being they are flooding all the music channels with video-montages of her, I never really realized how much of a instrument her voice was,she was an amazing talent. Life works in mysterious ways the old cliche rings true
“you don’t appreciate something till its gone” R.I.P Whitney Houston
