Between dressing like he’s in 21 Jump Street (h/t Desus) and releasing an album with a complimentary pair of panties, it’s overwhelmingly apparent that R. Kelly doesn’t quite know how to move in these modern times. In another inevitably awkward attempt to remain relevant, Kellz has announced he’s trying his hand at this “EDM” thing and working on a House album.
Read more below…
“I want y’all to know a secret: I’m working on a House album right now, and I want y’all to know its coming,” Kellz told the crowd at Chosen Few DJ’s event in Chicago last Sunday (July 6th). “Y’all know I love music and I feel like I can do anything when it comes to music because I am music, just like y’all.”
R. Kelly isn’t leaving behind R&B just yet, though; he’s also prepping the release of White Panties, the aptly-titled follow up to last year’s Black Panties, as well as his first Holiday album, 12 Nights of Christmas.

I think the article’s a bit below the belt. When R.Kelly was “relevant”, he was making gospel and stepping albums, when he could have been making the same old same old, making dollars.
He’s always done his own thing, more power to him if he wants to do EDM..he’s a musician, Stay pigeon holing these artists to a particular genre shows backward thinking. Musicians embrace all forms of music

Actually Andy B. House music from Chicago and EDM is not the same! While both are dance music, it is drastically different! But Who cares about this album anyway…..

oop. yes, I’ll school Andy on the intricacies of House music history. Being from Chicago, I actually think it makes perfect sense for R.Kelly to do a house album, but more sense for him to make a full on steppers collection. House has a very different connotation for folks from the Midwest. We love our Deep House, Techno and more.
