The excitement for Pusha T’s new album is sky high thanks to “Untouchable,” the snarling single he dropped earlier this month that boasts a Timbaland beat, a sampled Biggie hook and some of Push’s coldest rhymes. But we can look forward to a nice little stocking stuffer before King Push arrives next year.

Amidst some confusion over his upcoming releases, G.O.O.D. Music’s new President stopped by the Noisey offices earlier today and confirmed that he’ll be dropping a prelude project called Darkest Before Dawn on December 18.
“I’ve been recording so much — I didn’t want to break up that body of work,” he said. “I feel like I had the producers doing things that they weren’t usually known for, a little out of their wheelhouse. I wanted to give the fans that body of work. That’s the music I love, and that’s the music that my fans love from me. Instead of having those moments throughout King Push, let’s just separate the game.”
Darkest Before Dawn will include production from Kanye West, Pharrell, Puff Daddy, Q-Tip, Hudson Mohawke, Baauer, Nashiem Myrick and, of course, Timbaland. King Push, meanwhile, is set for a Spring 2016 release.
UPDATE: Darkest Before Dawn will include guest appearances from Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, Beanie Sigel, The-Dream, Kehlani and Jill Scott, according to a press release. Pusha T also shared a short trailer for the album.
