Jon Caramanica recently invited Miss Info, NYT’s Joe Coscarelli, and Joie Manda to his “Popcast” podcast. Following the shooting at Irving Plaza, the braintrust held a lengthy discussion about the history of hip-hop club violence in New York City.
In case you aren’t familiar, Joie was one of the original promoters for The Tunnel and managed FunkFlex for many years during his infamous run at the 90s club. O.G. hip-hop journalism heads might also remember Info’s all inclusive article in ’99 about The Tunnel. You can read here it here in full (page 124).
