New Music: Gucci Mane feat. Trinidad James “GuWop”
Posted by Mikey Fresh under New Music , Videos[11] Comments
I always thought Trinidad had a bit of Gucci influence in his swag. He takes all the ingredients that “popping” rappers have today, which includes a pinch of Laflare’s hoodness. Anyway, from DJ Spinz upcoming HPG mixtape, comes the first Trap God x Trini collabo. Also, be sure to watch Hot97’s program director Ebro and Rosenberg take him through the ringer (does he really hate “All Gold Everything”?).
Listen to the new track and watch his Hot97 interview after the jump…

Your comment begs the question, “What is hip-hop?” Hip hop “originalists”, for the most part, frown upon artists that depart from the original “New York” style hip hop (however you’d like to define that…). Always have and always will. Not mad at that.
To keep things short and sweet, hip hop is like cooking chicken. A chef can season and cook chicken many different ways to produce a very different and distinct tasting dish. But, the main ingredient will always remains constant, chicken. Without completing this very logical connection… I’ll say this, “Just let Trinidad cook, bro.” You don’t have to like it, but you should accept the fact that it is still hip hop.

Hip hop is mcing, break dancing, djing, and graffiti…Its a lifestyle which isnt reflected in any gucci song or video and probably never will be. Trinidad is following the same trend as gucci so it isnt hip hop…just rapping for a hustle

SALUT!

Again… That’s hip hop as defined from an originalist perspective. Your definition of hip hop is derived from the 80s era (see Wild Style & Krush Groove). Simply put, times have changed.
Rapping for a hustle?lol. Hustling is about getting paid…end of story. Do me a favor, ask Jay-Z or Nas to rap for free at your next birthday party. Let me know what they say.
Just let Trinidad cook, bro!

I guess you can redefine things, it is what it is. Jay and Nas of course rap to support themselves and their families but have more respect for the art and the culture which is reflected in the quality of work they put out. This right here is garbage for when your drunk, and feeds certain individuals who are ignorant anyway. Keep cooking for the ignorant Trinidad!
