Since his release from prison at the end of May, Guwop recorded and release his new album ‘Everybody Looking,’ featuring Drake, Kanye, Thugger and more. He did a New York Times profile, a Fader spread, and half a dozen music videos. Gucci sold out the Fox Theater, brought out Drake, Future, 2 Chainz, OJ, and Young Dolph. This week alone, he appeared in a Vogue feature and soft-launched his clothing line, Delantic.

But this is the cherry on top that I’ve been waiting to drop…Anyone who really knows Diplo, knows that he’s a Day-1 Gucci Mane fan. So I wasn’t surprised to find out that he had reached out to Gucci as soon as he got home to jump on “Cold Water” the debut single off their upcoming ‘Music Is The Weapon’ album. Just to put it in context, “Cold Water” already has Justin Bieber and MØ on vocals. While Major Lazer’s previous smash “Lean On” took 3 months to hit #1 globally on Spotify…”Cold Water” hit #1 in 4 friggin’ days. And now the godfather of trap Big Guwop is on that joyride with Diplo, Major Lazer, Bieber, and MØ.
