Lil’ Wayne tells Angie Martinez that he’s retiring at 35, hasn’t heard Pink Friday in full, loves the Jersey Shore and more

(Update: just added video of Weezy and Angie in the Hot97 studios! Thanks Rob/Hot97tv)
Fresh from back-to-back shows in NYC for his I Am Music II tour, Lil’ Wayne makes his first post-prison radio interview on Hot 97’s The Angie Martinez Show.
Break 1: Intro – Wayne talks about his probation, the women in his life, and not being a “superstar”.
Break 2: Returning and seeing Drake & Nicki Minaj’s success, retiring at age 35, never seeing Toya’s BET reality show, and never hearing Drake or Nicki Minaj’s debut albums yet.
Break 3: Preparing for Tha Carter IV, his love for The Jersey Shore, Rick Ross & Kanye West being his favorite albums currently, and Nicki Minaj’s “Did It On ‘Em” originally being his song that was given away by Mack Maine.
Mikey’s note: Yes, everyone thinks Weezy really hasn’t heard all the songs from Drake and Nicki’s albums but at the 6:26 mark, Wayne explains how every song was emailed and approved by him. I believe Weezy was originally implying that he hasn’t actually sat down with the completed albums in their final format.
Thanks to Angie

New Music: Porcelain Black feat. Lil’ Wayne – “This Is What Rock N Roll Looks Like” (via Mr.X)
We all know Weezy loves his rock music, and recently he added 25-year old Detroit artist Porcelain Black to YMCMB family. The former Virgin Records singer is now working with producer RedOne on her debut album (set to drop via Universal Republic). She’s on the road with Weezy’s I Am Music II tour and her first single and video features her new mentor (above).

I think it says alot if your boss aint even bothered to listen to your music…..either he doesnt take them seriously or he has been real busy…..but still.

please read carefully….he has heard all the songs, as they were being made….he approved each one. But he was just saying that he never really heard the finished project after he got out. He moved onto the next project.

What’s wrong with playing Eric Benet?? Damn Hot 97 really doesn’t want to play good music. They resist.. lol… That’s crazy.

Never mind.. listened to the end of the interview and they finally played it. Still….. they should be playing that song on the regular. It’s good R&B music.

I don’t condone the garbage Wayne keeps supporting and stamping the Rock & Roll label on…
I listen to many genre’s of music, electronic, techno, pop; he’s better off with those labels the “Rock” thing? No sir. Stop while u r at it.
