(EXCLUSIVE COVERAGE) (L-R) Hip Hop artist Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Common attend Common's Surprise Birthday Party at The Redbury Hotel on March 13, 2011 in Hollywood, California.

Hours after releasing his new single “Girls” featuring Too $hort, Kid Cudi made his way to Power 106 LA to discuss his new Indicud LP due April 23. Many fans have noticed on the album’s tracklisting that absent are features from his G.O.O.D. Music family. During his on-air interview with Yesi Ortiz ad DJ Felli Fel, Cudi shocked listeners announcing he’s no longer a part of the label headed by Kanye West.

Cudi states Kanye understands as they’re both trying new things as artists. Cudi’s focus will now turn to his Wicked Awesome Records label and developing his artist/friend King Chip. Knowing he wanted to leave six months ago, Cudder reveals he consulted with both ‘Ye’s manager in Don C and Jay-Z on his thoughts.

“Man, everything is cool. Everything is peace with everyone on the label, but I’m announcing that I’m no longer on G.O.O.D. Music. And this is something that no one knows really. I’m no longer on G.O.O.D. Music.

Me and Kanye were actually talking on the phone the other day, and there’s been things I wanted to talk to him about. About me wanting to start my own direction, and he got it because he’s trying to start his own new path, and trying new things as an artist. And he was just like ‘Man, I feel you. It’s cool.’ This is just from a business standpoint. There’s no beef with anyone on the label. It’s all love.”

“It’s not like some beef thing, it’s just business. I went through a process where I talked to Don C, and then I went to talk to Jay-Z. And then got their opinions about how to approach [Kanye] about things I wanted to talk to him about and everybody gave me the blessing on how I was approaching it and my concerns.

I talked to Don C to get his opinion on how to approach Kanye. Then I hit up Jay to get his opinion on how to approach Kanye, because I never wanted to offend him and I didn’t know how he’d take it. And I was like ‘Man I do not want to make my brother mad,’ me and Kanye have never bumped heads, we’ve never argued, we’ve never been in heated conversations…ever. I really went out my way to make sure that what I was feeling was justified and it was ok for me to bring it to the table. And Hov reassured me, he was like ‘Yo man I hear it in your tone that it’s genuine and everything that you’re saying to me, how you’re saying it I know Kanye will be receptive to that. I know he’ll honor it'”
