Keeping the television appearances very minimal in 2014, Kendrick Lamar paid a visit to The Colbert Report on Tuesday night. The Compton rapper first sat down with political satirist Stephen Colbert to discuss his come-up as an artist, growing up in the tough neighborhood of Compton, and the impactful single “i.” Also serving as the last ever musical guest on the show, K.Dot used the moment to world premiere a new record.

Backed by Thundercat, Bilal, Anna Wise and Terrace Martin on saxophone, the jazzy record with elements of soul and funk has no title currently, Kendrick told Colbert. Produced by Parisian producer Astronote, watch and listen to the new record from TDE’s finest below.
