The seven-and-a-half-minute song, which features guest vocals from elusive UK crooner Sampha and a sample of Jay Z’s “Where I’m From,” is supposedly titled “Closest Thing to Einstein.” Despite the typically self-aggrandizing title, though, Kanye gets introspective about his recent Twitter outbursts (“People tryna say I’m going crazy on Twitter/My friend’s best advice was to stay low”), $53 million debt (“I can’t say no to nobody/And at this rate we gon’ both die broke”) and supposed mental health crisis (“This generation’s closest thing to Einstein/So don’t worry about me, I’m fine”).
Based on those lines, it’s clear this song was recorded very recently (Kanye is a last minute kinda person, in case you hadn’t noticed), so it looks like Kanye is still putting in work in the studio. Fridays freebie or on the “final version” of The Life of Pablo that we’re still patiently waiting refreshing TIDAL for.
