Posted by Mr.North under Concerts[21] Comments
Add another historical concert to long résumé of Jay-Z. Next September, the co-owner of the New Jersey Nets will headline the first concert at the Barclays Center located in his hometown of Brooklyn, New York. When the current NBA Lockout is over the venue, which is expected to open September 28, 2012, will serve as the home of the Brooklyn Nets. An official press conference will commence Monday, September 26 at 10am with Jay-Z and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz among the attendees at the Atlantic Terminal overlooking the under-construction Barclays Center.

Isnt this the same bank that got rich off the trading of slaves and when that news came out they put that —— on the front line he went to sports authority bought 10 hoops and nailed them up in a few parks and all was suppose to be forgiven? OF COURSE HE’S HEADLINING THE GRAND OPENING..
I aint even gone diss this dude man.. At this point its pointless.. I give up! This is what you do when massa make a call this type of cell out shit is what his connections is all about…He’s sold his soul man this guy is like a monkey dancing on a razor blade and as long as he makes out whats right or wrong doesnt matter.. Corporate america wanted a way into hip hop and they found the perfect cock lickin uncle tom to get them in.. He’s the mans ambassador to the niggas and just like now they keep using him to smooth shit over.. I dont know what illuminati is but I’m sure this camel is super connected and only gives a shiit about self.. He aint change we just dont know who he is and we act like it dont matter..

leave it up to banko to spin a charity case lol I cant deny or confirm the corporate allegations. I will say this though I never see Jay on front line that’s why kings get over thrown they cant relate to the working average modern day man.
Save your for profit-organization write off wrapped in the education cloth. I refuse to donate just so you can have another tax break. power to the people!!!

Bank0…I always read your shit & I was curious…do your views only include Jay-Z or are there other successful Black Men on your radar. Reason being, if it’s only Jay in your cross-hairs then it would be hard for me to respect it. Are all successful Black Men sellouts? Are there any that you think got there legitimately?? Just curious to know where it’s all coming from…Peace.

Why’s everybody get hung up on the tax write off shit….It’s just an itemized deduction from your taxable income. It’s not just something for the rich….I write off my donations every year…does it make the donation any less sincere??

Co owner? Doesn’t that imply some kind of power within the organization? Just saying.

Lets do a little critical thinking here: I re-read your post and read a complaint about JAY-Z being a sell out and a Uncle Tom. Your proof? You site a MEDIATAKEOUT report of someone suing JAY-Z for slave reparations (which is ridiculous). I’m all for my peoples efforts to bring light to our f’d up history, but I hate the poor righteous teacher/losers who in 2011 bitch that successful black people who work the system (and subsequently do more for black people both financially and image wise then you)are somehow Uncle Toms. You offered zero proof other then to say that JAY-Z partnered with a bank that had a slave connection 400 years ago. So, should he as a black person try and take every dollar from them or turn them down and let them keep the money for themselves? You make no sense.

Tons bro… Bob Johnson is at the top of my list but this isnt the right forum for that so I wont waste my breath on here… All successful black men arent sellouts and its not even about being successful as much as its about what you did to get there.. Everyone has a price and a list of things they wouldnt do for success and this Jazzy guy doesnt.. He’s a sellout in the purest sense of the word. He would sell his soul, his wife, his community and whatever else is asked for just to be included ny his new friends that he’s a puppet for..I cant respect that.. And by wife I mean google Beyonce daddy sueing that nigga to see his emails between him and live nation because he thinks camel face is responsible for her firing him and giving her touring career over to the man…Thats what a sellout is..
I know people gone call me crazy or a hater or whatever but one day people will look back and say YO THIS NIGGA MOVES WEERE SHADY!!
Thats why when you see him at Nas birthday party its not because they friends its because he needs that photo op to say look I’m real hip hop and down for my community.. When all he is.. all hell fuck it!
its all good have a good weekend!

It is deductible when its a non-profit charitable organization donated from YOU NOT JAY-Z .for profit charities like this one is a strange wicked beast. Its a far cry from a donation exemption on your w-2 forms. Registered non profit charity is a worthy cause this isn’t about that don’t defend the wealthy when you’re middle class. Even if it was you cant compare your tax breaks with those of republicans you’re not in the tax bracket. Why should a secretary get taxed more than the corporate c.e.o she works for ?I’m tired of their free corporate fule’d jets, wall street commissions and false for profit charities disguised in CfO’s. If warren buffet says they should get taxed more they should. Class warfare has arrived you can act like you’re on a even playing field and have the same rights they do with them YOU DON’T!

yeap all politics. Im not saying Jay-z is a bad guy for this;but I hate when people say “hes done more for the community” like hes really an activist. I have to admitt even Jay-z has done quite a bit of non profit charities though i.e 9-11, and the two kings event w/Lebron James all registered as non profits. For some reason this event isn’t listed as that (I wonder why) ;its listed as a Roc-Nation for-profit charitable event. I just want people to understand he receives profits from this particular event don’t think he’s doing it out the kindness of his heart even though I still think education is a hell of a cause and even half the dough they receive is needed for this cause. Yeah hes putting kids through school Because its a hell of a write off for him.The king hands the peasants loafs of bread it isn’t cause he cares its so they don’t take his head off out of survival.
I’ll say it again: I never see jay-z on front line he always fades away and organizes a concert event to split profits with and labels it as “charitable”; oh worthy king please come shake hands with honest hard working people;come out of hiding in that corner corporate office. break bread with the people might humble you some.

if you set aside banko’s obvious personal bias towards Jay some of the things he says be right on lol why shouldn’t he be allowed to criticize “the king” of hip hop. After dame dash no way no how will I ever believe his business motives are honest and benefit charitable contributions. Go back to Marcy Projects and help those people out. These are just qualities you’re born with you cant buy those no matter how much you worth. So how am I suppose to believe that he’s sincere in anything that has to do with money after that? let’s keep it in perspective here, I don’t think he’s a sell out I just think he would put a price on his integrity if he could. I wont tap into his corporate greed Ive said enough already.
September 24th, 2011 at 11:26 pm
jayz is a cocksuckin sellout… fake ass godfather…jayz never even been in a fist fight in his life.
the Ether is still burnin his soul thats y hes sellin it so much Lol
September 25th, 2011 at 9:30 am
Working the system and being worked by the system with no type of moral compess in place is two completely differnt things…I would say you make no sense but you said that already…
the fact that he was being sued wasnt the point at all.. the point was the fact of who he thinks its okay to do business with, why they possibly selected him and his ability to look the otherway..
As to your question he as a black man shouldm tell them to go fuck themselves and protest them exploiting black people yet again to make a dollar..Its the BARCLAYS CENTER not the Jazzy CENTER.. They just rolled him out so simple niggas like you could say “o dass okkkay if jazzy doin it it must be good” exactly what they want you to think..He makes a dollar off them and they make 100 off us sounds fair lol…
I will be your poor righteous teacher god knows thats whats missing today.. like ice tea said people today will believe any fuckin thing…except the truth. Black people lost their soul jAMES Brown is rolling over in his gold coffin

i couldnt agree more!! I just saw on the news (sunday night) inequality protests down on wall street. People wont wake up till they have lost everything (including a honest perspective on someone both through music and their social status). Jay-z is a wealthy corporate rapper reliving his 1980 youth. how the hell am i suppose to relate to that. and to make matters worse he funnels money through phony charitable causes. I love some of his work but i cant ride with that even if i likes some of his past projects. this is outside of music this is music being used for a social reason. every time theirs a tragedy this dude throws a concert to capitalize off it. im sick of it.

So now a jew shouldn’t push a benz because Hitler pushed a benz?…Nobody that is working for that bank was alive when slavery was taking place… And
how are they making all this money off of “us”? If you have a problem with it then don’t go to the games or concerts there. I’ll never get why people like you think that when a black man becomes successful all of a sudden he owes you something or else he’s a sellout. Niggas like you respect a basehead like DMX more than somebody like Jay “because he keeps it real”. Thats why you’ll never amount to shit. He doesn’t owe you me or anybody else anything.
September 25th, 2011 at 11:05 pm
It amazes me that people still judge a man character by how much money he has. I like DMX not because hes keeping it real but because he is being himself I’ve never seen him follow a trend he isn’t keeping it real he’s real to himself. He never pretends to be anything he isn’t.
I’m sick of corporations taking advantage of middle class people Jay-z only appears to throw a concert when its profitable for him other than that hes hugging up in a suite with leor or stout rubbing their corporate black cards in sleeping bags.Jay-z is a corporate douche bag I don’t care how much money hes made or what he claims in his raps anymore. And if you don’t believe me ask DMX what he thinks about him; he hid under his desk then ran out the back door when DMX confronted him about his project @def jam.
You go and keep thinking Jay-z doesn’t owe you or anyone at the very least a sorry for corporate greed.on a more positive note here’s what went down @wall street. But explain that to middle class families that rely on education charities to go to school why their children are homeless and aren’t getting a decent education while Jay prances around in jets and Maybach’s wasting 250 k in clubs.

Once again I still don’t get why you’re mad at him for gettin money? That was his goal to begin with he never said his goal was to help people he ain’t mos def or common he tells you what hes about in his raps take it or leave but don’t sit there and bitch about what another man does with his paper. If I go out and bust my ass to make something of myself the last thing I wanna do is turn around and help out a lame dude like you. Why even do anything positive like this when all niggas like you and banko do is complain?
September 26th, 2011 at 3:34 pm
way too many men on her focusing WAY too much on another man’s life… get your own shit together and stop stalking another man..
