On Monday, Jay-Z officially announced three special concerts to open up the brand new $1 billion dollar Barclays Center in Brooklyn on September 28th, 29th, and 30th. Earlier this afternoon, Hov and the home of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets have added two more additional shows on October 3rd and 4th.

UPDATE: Angie Martinez announces 3 more shows have been added on Monday, October 1st, Friday, October 5th and Saturday, October 6th. Tickets for all eight shows go on-sale to the general public this Friday, July 13 via Ticketmaster and the venue’s site.

Eight nights with Jay-Z in his hometown? a special two weeks for Brooklyn indeed.
