Not loving today, got some sad family news. But honestly, watching this made me feel better. Maybe just brings me back to a good place….I vaguely remember a Nas Illmatic EPK back in the day, not sure if it played on TV. Maybe on Video Music Box? But props to Madwriter (HHNLive) for dusting the years off this clip.

the craziest thing is, 15 years after the world is yours, people are still feenin for another pete and nas track.

Good shit Ms. Oh.
I used to run a NY radio station back then. I can’t ever remember seeing that video either… but it’s just as good to see today as it would have been back then. Maybe even better now.
On another note, dont’cha think we need more Nas Primo/Pete/LP collabos now a days? It’s what the game is missing.

arent you the reason he got five mics?

I actually remember this being aired on Rap City. It was a show dedicated to Nas the phenom. I think it was the only time Rap City ever did it. Me and my brother still talk about that episode. Thanks for the clip.
Illmatic was an instant classic. How many albums could boast the kind of classic producers he had.

This s why I aint mad at Nas For Dropping the N Bomb for his next album alot people have forgoten who Nastradamus aka Esco is and doubt what he’s capable of.
It aint hard to tell is in my Top 10 All Time Favourites!
@ Miss Info, life is full of up’s and downs and its how we deal with each situation that determines how we live our lives so focus on the good and cherish each moment and keep praying for the best, you smell me?
I’ve been in a similar situation after a car accident and I did not want people around me to be sad and worried I wanted them to be happy and opportunistic and that kicked in the fight in me, and so I bounced back like Smoking Joe Frazier ya dig.
Hope everthing goz well for you Ma! peace and luv, ya dig?

I remember the de la one too it was hot too.But I think Nas was overrated especially when comparing to Rakim. One love was a remake of whodini, the world is yours is slick rick’s.Biggies album came out the same time so I was more into Biggie.

Yeah ahahhahaha I remember this crystal clear!!! Tribe called Quest was huge so when they spoke highly of Nas, it was like that old EF Hutton commercial “Everyone listens”
He met every expectation with that debut Illmatic album!! Dudes were blasting that on the lil sony radios in the park 14 years ago. I remember “represent represent” blasting in the background when I played ball!!Oh yeah he was brought onto us like a prophet the way he spit his poetry!! It was another avenue that hip hop was growing into, in the early 90’s that is. No other time like it I say, no other time like it!!!
Very refreshing to hear at the time, Very New York.
Wash heights native up in here!!
