In episode four of First We Feast‘s Food Grails, Miss Info heads down to New Orleans to explore the unique Vietnamese po’ boy movement. Local legend Curren$y explains the origins of the po’ boy while farmer Khai Nguyren and Banh Mi Boys chef Peter Nguyen shed insight on how the line between the local po’ boy and the Vietnamese bánh mì have become blurred since the Vietnam war. Through something as simple as a sandwich, two communities have realized they have more in common than you might think.
