In a year in which the apparent “cold war” between Kanye West and Drake (which eventually cooled off at OVO Fest) was one of the biggest stories, this almost seems like a Truman Show script. Yes, just a week after Kanye West left Nike and confirmed a new sneaker deal with adidas, Drake has one-upped his idol by announcing a partnership with Jordan brand.

Drizzy broke the news during a show in Portland, Oregon (Nike’s birthplace) last night on his Would You Like a Tour?. “Today also happens to be one of the best days of my life,” he told the crowd. “So today, I came to Portland and officially became inducted into the Team Jordan family.”

It looks like two sneakers — the Jordan 10 and 12 OVO Stingrays — are the first offering from this new partnership, which Drake previewed on Instagram last night. Available in both black and white colorways, the shoes feature a gold OVO logo on the translucent sole.
