Drake and Future’s “Summer Sixteen” tour pulled into Detroit’s famed Joe Louis Arena on Tuesday night (Aug. 16). The 6 God was joined by the ‘Rap God,’ as hometown hero Eminem appeared on stage to perform his verse on Drizzy’s 2009 single “Forever.” “Make some noise for the greatest rapper to ever touch a microphone,” said Drake, who bowed down to Slim Shady shortly after. “Views from The Joe. #WelcometoDetroit,” said Eminem in an Instgram post, as Drake followed that up soon after in his own post with “SHARED THE STAGE WITH THE GOAT FOR DETROIT. DONE THE HYPE..”
Eminem’s appearance comes a few weeks after HOT 97 reported that the Toronto rapper/singer was ready to battle the Detroit MC. The news, which took social media by storm, turned out to be a “prank” according to Ebro Darden who first revealed the “private conversation” on-air.
