Sad news this afternoon: TMZ reports that Charlie Murphy has died at the age of 57 after losing his battle with leukemia. Murphy died in an NYC hospital where he was receiving chemo treatment, according to his manager.

The older brother of Eddie Murphy, Charlie enjoyed his own successful comedy career, writing and starring in Chappelle’s Show among several other films and TV shows. He was recently on the Comedy Get Down tour with Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez and D.L. Hughley.
