Freddie Gibbs and Madlib released their Bandana album last week, and since then the project has been highly-praised by many with some calling it an album of the year candidate. To promote the project, Gibbs appeared on Real 92.3 in Los Angeles with Bootleg Kev and DJ Hed. The visit ended with a freestyle session, where Gangsta Gibbs rips Drake and Rick Ross’ “Money in the Grave” track. Watch the performance below.

The Game is getting set to release his new album, Born 2 Rap, later this year. The veteran rapper is calling the project his final studio LP and started the roll out on Friday (Jun. 21) with the single “West Side.” Promoting the new record, The Game paid a visit to Power 106 in Los Angeles to catch up with the L.A. Leakers. With a lot of bars to get off, the Compton MC delivered a near 10-minute freestyle session. Ari Lennox made her late-night television debut on Thursday (Jun. 20), appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Serving as musical guest, the Dreamville songstress performed a medley of the songs “Up Late” and “BMO.” Both records appear on Ari’s Shea Butter Baby debut album, released back in mid May. The appearance comes after the D.C. singer just wrapped up her first-ever headlining U.S. tour.

Cardi B headlined HOT 97 Summer Jam 2019 on Sunday night (Jun. 2) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Performing not far from her hometown, the Bronx star delivered an electric set with special guests Offset, City Girls, and Blueface. The biggest surprise came when Cardi, dressed in a skimpy yellow ensemble, brought out Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil’ Nas X to perform their Billboard smash-hit “Old Town Road.” Sadly, during the performance Lil’ Nas X could not be heard as his mic went out. That didn’t damper the energy as the packed crowd at MetLife Stadium sang the chart-topping song word for word.

Summer Jam 2019 also featured sets by Meek Mill, Migos, Tory Lanez, Rich the Kid, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Davido, Casanova and more.
